The only Part I found challenging was The you attack those geth outpost on 4 different planets the ice one was tough to get a good angle other then that no real problems.

The very first Thresher Maw, since then I had little trouble with bosses, some are more time-consuming than others, but that is about the only difference. But the first time that thing sprung out below me was pure horror especially since I didn't had the normal strategies against those things at hands. I think I did horribly that time and sometimes later on too, then I got the hang of it. Plus their nests are easily distinguishly so there is little chance to get surprised at least a third time (second time to notice the pattern of course).

Although not a boss, there was a room on...feros..I think...that had a group of Krogan on it...there was no cover, and it was at the top of stairs.

They charged, charged and charged some more. Always had more trouble with that than any of the bosses.

I had more trouble with Garm than Benezia in ME1. Probably because my character was weaker when I fought Garm. The krogan charge in ME1 was way more devastating than in ME2.

The Krogan Battlemaster on Therum. That guy is the only boss that I get stuck on in ME1.

I had the bright idea of doing my Insanity run with fresh new lvl 1 Infiltrator. Of course, I started with Therum, and didn't bring Kaidan. That Krogan Battlemaster at the end kept tearing through my team like a chainsaw through hot butter for over an hour, since I had no way to disable him. Compared to this, everything else was easy as pie.

Oh yeah, ... that dude. Actually I think he is the worst enemy you can get in Mass Effect, granted you have not any talents to "passivy" him. Actually he is the same category as the Thresher Maws, if you don't have a strategy to begin with and lack the talents to deal with him, he's annihilating you over and over again. I was stuck there too, but less because I didn't have a strategy or lacked in skill, but more becasue I completely lacked any talent that could have successfully dealt with the situation ...

When I played ME for the first time, I got stuck on that Geth ambush on Therum. The damn snipers were one-shot killing me, as I was at a low level and had bad armor. Later I found out that the game's RPG. And then I found out it relies on gear, leveling and all that stuff. After that, not much problem.

Benezia was crazy hard for me. I was playing an Infiltrator, and I had taken Garrus and Tali along with me: didn't really realize quite yet how powerful biotics were in ME1, so I was just going about my merry business until I kept getting stasis-owned by the asari commandos. I'll admit I had to turn down the difficulty for that fight.

After that one time, though, I never had many problems. Sniping for the win :)

Not to be an elitist tool, but I can't fathom having a hard time with Benezia. All you have to do is kill her stooges! Maybe it is because I always do Noveria last, but a handful of Asari Commandos and some Geth? Psh.

Actually, most of the "bosses" are easy... I think the most difficult fights are just some random encounters you have along the way. Like those three Krogan next to the transmitter on Feros. They wtfpwned my very first Infiltrator so hard so many times I restarted the game as a different class.

I do agree, though, the Geth battles in the Armstrong cluster are a huge, huge pain in the ass. Least favorite questline in the game, bar none. Nothing but Mako, Mako, Mako and rockets, rockets, rockets. And as if 4 planets full of Geth weren't enough, they give you another one to do when you're finished. Bah!

What was hard about the Armstrong Geth? Killing stuff with the Mako is pretty easy, isn't it?

Ground troops sure, but you also deal with throngs of Colossi, Armatures and Primes. So you have to find a place where, from the Mako, you can see all the enemies so that you are not getting rocketed and plasma-balled from behind 4 times a second. It's alot of Mako jump, reposition, press Shift twice to get the scope, fire one rocket, press shift two more times to get back to regular Mako view, check if anyone is raping you with rockets, move back into position, ooh, better jump now, okay, press shift twice to get the scope up, fire one rocket, press shift twice again so you can move around, etc. etc. etc...

Mostly, it is just tedious. There is some difficulty, but not in the normal sense. It is difficult because ****ing up once generally means instadeath or waiting forever for the Mako shields to come back up.

Uhm, seriously ... how can you NOT realize the Mako has a cannon the moment you saw it the first time!?

Benezia was pretty hard for me as well the first time I played the game. My class was an Infiltrator. I forget who was in the group, but she was the first boss I went up against, and her biotic attacks kept freezing me. Plus, the cut-scene a couple of time just left me disabled. Later on I learned to properly utilize my team members' biotic abilities, and she hasn't been a problem since.

Somehow I find myself in need of a little facepalm. No malevolent one, just to express my genuine surprise on how people actually missed the Mako has a gun Image IPB

My problem was forgetting that right-click in the Mako fired the cannon instead of zooming in like it does while on foot. Oops,  .4 experience for those kills...

the Krogan battlemaster+ geth battle on elevator when saving Liara was damn hard first time I did it on Insanity. Squadmates just kept droping dead, and I had no skills avaible to stop krogan from charing and one shoting me

Maybe a little off topic, but my hardest parts were (in no particular order)
1. The two Geth ambushes on random worlds since there were 3-4 armatures each time.
2. Tali's side-mission... esp. on the ice world and the final outpost against 2 collossi and two manned towers.
3. Wrex's side mission, as Torn Actus whupped me repeatedly before I understood the importance of cover and hit and run tactics.
4. Benezia on Hardened difficulty (and I'm assuming Insanity).
5. The first time I tried to disarm the explosives on Eden Prime.
6. The first time I tried to get by the turrets on the Citadel Tower.

That being said, I've NEVER fought Saren on the Citadel Tower... I've always been able to Intimidate him into committing suicide. Image IPB

And for the record, I knew the Mako had a machine gun, but I didn't know about the cannon until about halfway through the game... that made Thresher Maws WAYYY tougher than they had to be.
