Will this be put on canadian gamestop? If I have to order from ".com" I end up paying another 20$ just for shipping.

EDIT: Disregard! Thanks!

The best solution is maybe to ask your Gamestop shop ?!
I guess the guide will be easy to find at the sale day as the game release. :)

The best solution is to directly as your Gamestop.
I think the guide will be easy to find at the same date as the game release. :-)

gameguides for rpg's ???
Why should someone do this ?? aren't we all able to play alone without any help or guide?
I could understand it for trophy hunters, but for that, there are internet sites.

in any case, there are a lot of free guides on the web... much much better than the ones written by prima.

The Official Dragon Age 2 Strategy Guide, made by the fine folks at Prima,  is now available for pre-order through Gamespot. Also available, and even cooler imo, is the Collectors Edition Dragon Age 2 Official Strategy Guide, which in addition to all teh gameplay help you could need, contains extra art and behind the scenes content.

Both editions will be available when Dragon Age 2 ships on March 8. Pre0order now through Gamespot or check with your local retailer to see if they are carrying them.

Gamespot does not sell strategy guides. Someone else probably already pointed this out. Multiple typos.

I bought collectors edition guide for the art, encylclopedia and just having a hardbook written copy of all this stuff. Sure wikia will have it all, but it wont be nice and sleek like a hardcopy in good quality.

Most can and do complete their games without requiring any form of assistance, but the reason for their purchase of a strategy guide is not to have a helping hand during a standard playthrough. I for one appreciate having printed media, especially a decorated hardcover filled with illustrated subject matter pertaining to a videogame I enjoy -- don't even get me started on the pungent redolence that permeates through every fresh, glossy page of Piggyback's tomes.

Now of course, I do also use them as a reference whenever and wherever convenient, although comparitively they're but a minor source of my reading indulgence. Given enough time after a game's release, wikis are richer in content and far more accurate than their printed counterparts as they're continuously updated and revised alongside a game's patches, and their contributors are at liberty to delve into the finer nuances of a game's intricacies and mechanics. A general exception to this would be Japanese RPG's and their corresponding guide books which can span well over 1000 pages combined. I'm a huge fan of Final Fantasy X and own all three of its Ultimania guides, and no English source can compare to the information they provide.

I'm gonna have to pick on you too, sorry. :)

I never use strategy guides in games, on the first play through at least, and only ever buy them when they include things like artwork, or collector bonuses - that's all it is for a lot of people. Collecting. You think most people cared that Limited Edition Fable 3 came with a deck of cards?

It amazes me how many people whine about those that want guides. I personally have collected strategy guides for games that I love for a pretty long time. It's not always about "needing help". A lot of the time it's the extra things guides include that make them worth it. Sometimes it's nice to look at a guide after a few playthroughs and realize "Hey, there's a bunch of quests I never knew existed!" A well done guide is a very nice thing. I bought CE guide for DAO and think it's fantastic, so I'll be doing the same for DA2.

Bought the collector's version a long time ago. I've never been disappointed with art in collector's editions, even when I was disappointed with a game.

Luckily, mine is set to ship a few days after 3/8 so I won't be tempted to cheat >.>

I got the collectors edition from GAMESTOP... it AWESOME! Very nicely put together. The only con is that there was no in-game item from buying the guide. I think the PDF file from Prima's website is cool too especially if you have a PDF program that allows you to annotate. This PDF would be a wonderful ap for iPad if they decided to do that.  http://www.primagame...n=9780307890122 Just an idea.

The official guide for Dragon Age 2, is by Piggyback. Not sure if there is even one from Prima.
Piggyback makes good guides. I have several.
