That was just a "message" basically telling you that the Rachni Queen you saved is rebuilding her species. She does not have any role in ME2 other than to tell you that.

She wasn't controlling the asari, that was essentially a "recording".

Actually game gives first hints about Rachni (IF you spared her on Noveria) on Omega where news says about mysterious scout ships looking like ancient Rachni ships.

Then that strange meeting with Queen's messenger... but i was less surprised to see her than seeing green Shiala again...

But if you listening to messenger words Queen just "imprinted" that message in her mind with hope that one day messenger will be able to deliver such to Shepard so this wasn't "direct control" but more like playing recorded in omni tool message.

Told by whom?  And why is their being wrong topic-worthy?

Using people as omnitools. How nice.

I wonder if it will actually matter. In me3 trailer it shows earth being attacked would be nice if yous saved her to have her help you in final battle with all species.

That's pretty much what's expected to happen. No guarantees, but it's what people expect.
I'm going to take a guess and say you're a PS3 player? If so, I can imagine why you'd ask those questions. The comic hardly did ME1 any justice.

No choices in ME1 really does anything in ME2. There are some small messages and encounters, but nothing that will affect your playthrough on a massive "OMG" scale.. sadly...

Hopefully, the Rachni choice will matter somewhat in ME3, as well as some choices made in ME2 *Shifty*

Indeed. I "played" the comic, but i feel many PS3 players will run blindly in the universe =(

For the Sith sake...

IF you listening to messenger story Queen saves her life when she was nearly dead so it's possible that this Asari agreed on her own free will to "record" and then one day deliver such message to Shepard.

In matter of fact she and Shep could never meet and this message would remain in her mind till she would pass away so thier metting on Illium could be absolute coincidence...

I beat Mass Effect 1 on my dead 360 but played Mass Effect 2 purely on the PS3. The comic is good for the people who wannna play ME2 but dont wanna hassle with playing the first one over again.
But I aint made out of money, i cant rebuy a 360 everytime it decides to go RRoD on me. Thats why i went PS3 instead. Mass Effect series was the only thing i regretted when it came to that decision. Gosh I love this and love how its on the PS3.

Also I pretty much brought the decisions i wanted to with that comic to the second game. But understand when you say it doesnt do ME1 justice for newcomers.

I'm sure that rachni will play a siginficant part in ME3. They did bother putting the decision in the comic after all whereas they omitted anything that wouldn't be needed later, like the thorian and Shiala.
