Sorry bro, not gonna happen. It's annoying, but it won't just happen. Live with it. Be glad BioWare released the game for PS3

Is there really much to experience? All ME1 references in ME2 were pretty small. Sure, they added to immersion and continuity, and generally made you feel at home if (and only if) you played ME1. Taking away what you know about the characters and events because you played the first game, they're just bits of random information or non-sensible dialogue. I'm pretty sure a lot of people even find the intro comic confusing and irrelevant, rather than an addition to their gameplay experience - and these are the "big" ME1 decisions; I don't see how adding references to events and characters you have no connection to or knowledge of at all would improve your experience.

Is it so wrong to want to experience everything the game can offer? Will it add the same level of immersion as it did for PC and 360 players? Hell no. But these extra quests and characters that are a result of those small choices are extra things that PS3 players can experience. Furthermore, if these little choices impact ME3 like they did in ME2, it also isn't fair to those PS3 players. The choices won't be the same to us PS3 only players as it is to the PC and 360 players. But it is something that still allows us to shape the in-game universe into how we want to shape it. And that is a lot better than nothing at all.

Let me modify my point from earlier. What this comes down is exclusivity because ME is only for 360 and PC. Now lets say the PS3 version of the game received quests that were exclusive only to the PS3 version. Now lets say that these PS3 only quests are later referenced and mentioned in ME3 and that 360 and PC players don't have a choice over these events that happened because these events were exclusive to the PS3 version of ME2. I am almost certain that those 360 and PC players still want to be able to alter and make their own decisions, even if these quests were exclusive.

Your argument can still be applied to this situation. The 360 and PC players haven't experienced these quests. They're just a bunch of random information and non-sensible dialogue to them. Yet most likely if this hypothetical scenario was true, I would bet that 360 and PC players would still want to be able to make these decisions as well.

Just because people haven't experienced the scenarios the same way as 360 and PC players have doesn't mean that these little decisions are pointless to them. People want to be able to affect their game in every little way possible because it would still fall under a decision that THEY have made. As shown throughout this entire topic, that implies both people who have and haven't played ME.

I get that, but there is no way to get these decisions to matter, because out of the context of the first ME game they simply don't. The majority of PS3 players will never even notice something is missing, and of the minority that does, some will just not care (as it doesn't affect the game).

So while it might have been nice to include, I can understand Bioware for

a) leaving it out, because it makes for a more seamless experience (less confusing references to things you've never heard about, but are supposed to have done) and

B) not bothering to somehow work it into a DLC that is only interesting to part of a minority of a (theoretical) third of their playerbase.

Releasing ME1 for PS3 would have been the optimal solution, the way they went is (imho) the second-best.

I really don't want dlc ME1 side-missions...I just want these added as if they had happened.

Before I could download the Cerberus Network stuff I was forced to start a char who had made choices I really didn't want in mine...needless to say I found a way to get to some internet to download the Cerberus Network stuff so I could make the choices myself.

But like you said they are small additions that could easily be fixed with a patch update such as Conrad and Gianna...its not like they are major add-ons...and don't frankly understand why they wouldn't be included in the first place.

People like you only say it wont happen. For the purpose of debate, state your opinion on why it wont happen, because saying it wont happen doesnt make it fact.

Not gonna happen, Im pretty sure Microsoft own some of the rights to ME1 and if they do will never give it to Sony, but hell I'd just be glad you got ME2

the copyright states that they cant release a full version of ME1 on another platform. They can get away with things like the digital comic or a DLC piece like this.

Oh well then you have a chance!, but knowing Microsoft as I do I highly doubt it, I know they were prettty mad when ME was no longer a 360 exclusive, but you never know.

As a more personal note I would be happy if you didn't have to restart the game, just have a datapad on sheps desk or something like that.

Won't happen as said before Microsoft owns the publishing rights and they sure aren't going to give anything to Sony if they don't have to. Doesn't matter if it is just bits or the whole package.

Be glad you got ME2 on the PS3 at all.

As I said before i believe that the contract doesnt stop them from doing stuff like this. it only stops them from releasing a full version of ME1 on PS3.

I'm an optimist and I still hope at some point even after ME3 has been out that EA/Bioware and Microsoft can sit down and work something out like adults so that playstation owners can have all 3 ME games. There are always ways round problems and maybe the success of ME2 on the PS3 will give an incentive to EA/Bioware to try something.

While a full version wont happen another comic could easily be done. Besides, I dont want to play ME1 again, not after playing 2.

I have created a new slogan for the group.

"Fight for the Lost Sidequests" for those of you who did not see the ME2 marketing the marketing was "fight for the lost"

Okay, I'll play your game. You recommend a "DLC pack or something similiar" to get this sidequests. How would that work out exactly? 'Cause I see no logical reason to put this sidequests that happens during the events of ME 1 in ME 2. Or have I missed something? I will gladly hear how you think this would work.

I'll be playing both because 1.) I want to finish what my ME1 Shepard started and 2.) I love trophies and a friend of mine and I are always competing to have the highest trophy score.

I beat me2 12 times 4th play through after reading seemingly endless codex and hanging onto every sentence of dialog I pretty much had the whole picture I then watched the entire me1 game on YouTube and now have clarity but I would of liked too make some of the moral, tactical and romance choices, that me1 presented perhaps they'll bundle me1 and me3 when it hits stores but I'm not going too hold my breath ;^P

My god, I was determined enough to do 4 playthroughs and I'm going to do more over the summer, but 12!
Also, I've seen it, I've played it on PC, but I have many reasons to transfer to PS3.

Half the ME1 sidequest decisions were either not mentioned or didn't matter cause the completely wrong outcome got mentioned in ME2 anyway(even though the right audio/animations were on the disc? What?).

If they put all the DLC missions on a disc that didn't require a code, or downloading, I would buy it.

I doubt it; there's very little incentive there for Bioware, other than to milk PS3 players for more content that's already accessible in the other versions of the game... the move to PS3 was purely meant by EA to expand the franchise's exposure; without a large PS3 consumer base demanding that those sidequest decisions be released as DLC, they won't budge.

The port's been released, Bioware's done with it (excluding patches). Look forward to the future.

They're lucky to even get to play the game. Stop being spoiled PS3 players.
