Like the subject says, what do you think your first ME3 playthorugh will be.

I'm playing thorugh me1 again for a new run and i'm doing it on casual to beast through and its making me want to shoot myself. On ME2 i play excusively on Insanity now so i'm thinking i'm gonna go full-bore and do Insanity on ME3 for my first playthrough.

What do you guys think you'll be doing?

I'm going to go for casual for my first playthrough with ME3. I'm more interested in the story and how the trilogy unfolds and concludes. Maybe after that, I would increase the difficulty just so I could get those achievements.

btw, I've read 48 laws of Power too and all the other books of Robert Greene.

Insanity.

I made a poll about this not too long ago.

I think I'll also be starting with Insanity.

Isn't Insanity normally locked until you finish the game once?

It was in ME1, but not in ME2.

I actually don't remember, if thats the case then i'll start on hardcore (or whichever one is right below insanity)

And to be fair, i might try my first run one notch below insanity anyways, for allw e know insanity in ME3 will actually be considerably hard.

i'll probably just go the same route with me3 that i did with me2, throw it on casual to rush through the story and see it unfold, then have all subsequent playthroughs as insanity whilst trying to get achievements and whatnot.

Probably gonna start it on Normal until I get the hang of the combat, then bump it up to Veteran. I save Hardcore and Insanity for my NG+ because at that point I know what I'm doing.

Usually I play Normal mode on games, but I suck at shooters and am more interested in the story of ME, so it'll be "Casual" for me.

Honestly i did not know that people actually played on casual as their standard setting. I've only ever used it on ME1 to get new saves.

I get the game is about the story, but Mass Effect is taking a turn to combat being more important and i think it takes away from the game to trivialize that one section just so you can get to the talkie bits faster.

I appreciate the wide range of difficulty levels the Mass Effect series offers.  It's great that we can all choose a difficulty level that best suits our play style.  The combat is probably my favorite aspect of Mass Effect 2, so I relish playing it on Insanity.  In Mass Effect 1, though, where I don't enjoy the combat very much, I drop it down to Casual.

First 10 minutes or so will be the default setting, until i get a general grip on the combat system, weapon systems and powers. Then I'll restart on veteran and do a playthrough. From there it will be Hardcore for all classes, except the one I did the veteran playthrough on. That will then be my first Insanity game.

It really depends on how much the gameplay changes and how rusty I am.

I think i'll start with insanity, but not with my adept or vangard, my first playthrough will be with my infiltrator.

If i find myself dying too much i will lower the difficulty until i get enough experience.

After what I saw in ME2 I think the best option will be insanity.

Only if they don't make you play Hardcore first to unlock Insanity. Let alone Play the game to level 50 to unlock Hardcore.

Exactly one level below the hardest, if ME2 is any indicator for ME3's difficulty levels. Hard enough so I don't get surprised by changing gameplay (like from Veteran to Hardcore and swoosh, now everybody has defences all of a sudden), still being hard enough to work for my success and room for more.
