Gorath, thanks for the reply, lol actually I ended up spending so much on the mainboard, ram, cpu, etc., that I had to go budget on a few things to get the machine up and running.
I'm ready to upgrade the video card though and I appreciate your advice because there are too many video card choices and I would have had a hard time knowing what to get...
Thanks again,
M

Possible solutions:
1. Run Memtest and check to see if you have problems with your ram.
2. In your BIOS disable any energy saving features. For AMD it would be AMD Cool & Quiet... since you got Intel look for equivalents. I suggest you google energy saving solutions for Intel chips cause I'm not aware of their names.
3. Regarding RAM settings in BIOS check to see if you have any compatibility settings. Again for AMD mobos u could find Ganged/Unganged settings, for Intel they're named differently I suggest you google'em.
4. Experimenting with overclocks? try disabling any overclocks including any Optimized bios settings. Set things to Auto or revert to defaults if you don't remember what things you've changed in bios recently.
Also you could try removing ur drivers & cleaning your computer of any remains, then reinstallin' the latest version from the videocard manufacturer.
