Did I miss anything else? O, wise one.

@ SuicidalBaby

Lloyd only ever died once on me, out of 5 or 6 plays of that quest.

Nice info on getting the bar. Somehow I never picked the right dialog for that.

Are you saying the militia fight better sober?

@ ussnorway

That's a nice tip on looting. Forced dialog/cutscenes are the bane of my life.

Yes, the one thing that seems improved the most is their damage output. I would suspect it's a attack penelty applied when drunk. Ever try using a bow drunk? I would also go so far as to wager they suffer a defence hit as well, if not a direct stat hit. My guess would be dex.

Also, Lloyd is part of the problem with the militia leaving the barricades indirectly. He runs around like someone who should be dead if it wasn't for your group. This causes your melee to slowly pull the militia out because of "blocking" effects when there are undead just outside the barricades but just on the other side. You do have the high ground for a very specific reason. They designed the land so the militia wont have line of sight issues w/ the barricades. Tanking on the outside of them negates the militia's view. Hense they move outside the defenses and occasionally dont script to walk back in. So, in other words, leave Lloyd to cower in some closet. He only hurts the situation. Stupid gets other people killed in combat throughout history. Your attention is better suited to killing another undead rather than saving that idiot.

Dexterity loss makes sense. But not a defense hit, being drunk relaxes you and minimizes damage ... while increasing the likelihood of accidents.

They were fall-down drunk last time, and I just spent my and Morri's time healing with the occasional hit thrown in for good measure. They were pretty darn impressive for drunk, poorly trained, scared little puppies.

Lloyd only ever went past the fire once, which is when he died. But he also did a marvelous job of defending that gap pretty much on his own, melee wise. If I hadn't taken him for granted (because he never ever seemed to get below 25% health in all previous battles) I'd have kept a better eye out.

What I've noticed is that, like Leli, the blue fighters attack what my character attacks. Unlike Leli, I can't change those tactics. If I do not cast AoE past the barricades they stay in the barricades. If I do, they go running out to die. Lloyd, however, seems to follow Murdock, so if Murdock is sending arrows to guard the gap, the gap is where Lloyd goes.

This change is what made the fight by the windmill work w/o the 'stand in the fire stupidity'.

Highly, highly recommend not even bothering to engage the undead in melee.

I dont know about that, a 2h weapon sweep really clears the undead off militia quite well. But yeah as a general rule not having to chase them around will increase overall dps.

sera, you should know that I am on ps3 and can not heal outside of my group. which is why I am so paticular in my walk-through. Its designed for the most restricted controls of the availible platforms.

Ah, I play as a mage so there's a style difference. :D

I didn't know there was a restriction like that on non-pc games, thanks for that information. AFAIK it isn't mod based so that's rather strange.

Good walkthrough guide by SuicidalBaby I would say. But...

Why wouldn't you give the miltia free ale? It is just a trigger and will make them more effective. Just force Lloyd to fight alongside the milita, then ask Bella, she will give the men free ale to bolster their effectiveness and you get some free supplies.

Having Lloyd along in the fight was funny, just did that quest my first time on nightmare. Believe it or not, Lloyd was tanking most of the time, that was a sight lol. But I had to heal him several times. For the second half of the attack I'd say that a mage with heal spell will make the difference. Got through with no casualties. For the first half... I recommend not getting the oil and forget about the fire barricade, it does more harm than help, actually that was the only struggle I had, keeping the knights from suiciding in the flames.

I think I explained why in my last post. Myself and anyone else on a console(PS3/360) can NOT heal outside of our group, so the guide is made so it will work for any platform.

I can see why you may believe the wiki, but having plyed through this paticular encounter I can say with a fair ammount of certainty there is a negitive effect from getting the ale. It may just be that the fight is easier to me at this point and I'm blaming the ale. HA!,typical. But it does seem the militia do more damage if I dont get them drunk.

Same reasons with Lloyd, iI simply can not heal him and thus he is a liability. When I did bring him out, I personally killed him, because he was tanking every thing, which was causing problems with the militia. Save revert, just took the bar.

I explained how to avoid issues with the fire, which works.

@SuicidialBaby: Thanks for pointing that out, I did not know you couldn't heal party members in the console versions and must have read over that in your post. I guess you are certainly right with all you write on consoles. I play on PC so it is more convenient in a way with healing and such.

A thought on the ale... it would actually make more sense if the militia was less precise in striking but less fearsome. Anyway I don't know what effect it really has, but from a roleplaying point of view I like the men happy with good morale.
