I looked around and I did not find a thread on this. I still have 2 gigs left after downloading ME2 and i try to play the game and it says not enough space left on hard drive. It this a problem with my ps3 or is 2 gigs really no enough for the saves?
Not enough memory to play game?

The game is *not* a 24-gigabyte install. It's roughly 5.3 gigabytes ... a heckuva difference.

It is 24GB if you bought it on PSN and downloaded it and that's before installing it.

This is why I installed a 500GB 7200 RPM enterprise 2.5" blade server drive before buying PSN versions of full games. I stuck the 120GB that was PS3 OEM in an old laptop. If I had the original drive in, I'd see HALF of it full after this install, considering OS, and footprint installs from disc games. Each seem to gobble up a couple GB each, 360 games tend to have a much smaller footprint. (unless you install to drive for faster load times)

Sahimi_taco,
order a new drive from newegg, or mwave, or any other discount parts retailer.
The orginal 5400 rpm 120GB drives are I think are impact resistant, so you'll want to replace it with hard duty type 2.5 SATA drive. Check HD maker sites for selecting the correct model. Find an SATA drive, more cache the better (like 32 or 64mb) 7200 rpm to make it a little more zippy!, Create an Operating System install CD from SONY. It's easier and cheaper than you would think. Under $100 will get you a massive drive.
Once you login in using your new drive, you should be able to redownload your purchased games.

Good grief. With space requirements like that, I'll *never* use a PSN version of a game disc available at retail. It wouldn't take much to fill the HD of even the largest standard PS3.

Quill74Pen,
That's why I recommend installing a big laptop drive. Even before I installed the first games, I knew the stock 120GB I had just wasn't going to cut it. While Microsoft makes you use their specific drives via discriminating firmware on the 360, Sony was at least nice enough to allow, if not encourage user DIY drive installs. For at least the older large PS3's, you can get a kit to move the drive connecter externally, allowing a drive in an external powered case. This opens up the possibility of using 3.5' drives that are very spacious and very fast.
