My human noble, who used a sword and a dagger, would occasionally lop her enemy's head off. Has anyone seen a Dwarf with two daggers do the same thing?

The weapon determines the messy kill.  Dual wield or sword & shield, a long sword has the chance to decapitate.

I've seen a dwarf and human with dual daggers decapitate. My last two playthroughs were as dual wielding rogues, with plenty of decapitations. They kinda do a stab and then decapitation.

Is it possible to do a decapitation with a mace or warhammer?

err...no, you cannot decapitate someone with a hammer.

A couple of days ago, Alistair decapitated a genlock. I was never more surprised in my life. I didn't know that happend with sword and shield. I even took a picture of the uncommon event.

You had never gotten an Alistair decap? S&S decap are a bit more rare but they do happen. The same goes for Two Handers.

I suppose it might have happened in a frenzied sort of battle and I just missed it, and didn't notice that one of the corpses was missing a head afterwards, but I usually pay pretty close attention to what the companions are doing. Particularly Alistair. ;) This time, I couldn't help but see it, though, as everyone else was dead. And I know my sword and shield wardens never have.

I was going through my screenies folder trying to find one of the "many" decaps I had seen with my S&S warriors... hmm, couldn't find any!!

They are rare indeed, though I'm surprised you haven't seen one yet considering it's the build you play as the most.

Yeah, that's what made me think it must be a very small chance, indeed. I've almost always got 2 sword and shield warriors in the party and that's the first time I've seen it.. I almost didn't get the screen shot, I was so busy being amazed.

Many, many times.  Not just with a dwarf, but my DW dwarf also got them.

Someone else was asking about S & S decaps.  I also get these.  Forced Deathblows mod helps.

I'm kind of having a contest in this run on who can get the most decaps. I'm getting so many, I've lost count. My rogue, Zev and, yes, Alistair, seem to be almost "neck and neck" (sorry, couldn't resist) in the head count. Zev will get one, then my rogue, and then I miss the shot of Alistair doing the same thing - I just see a headless body slump down. I have at least one (and usually more) each fight. It's so cool! Last night, my little tiny elf rogue (Kali) decapitated a qunari mercenary - now THAT was epic. Will post the shot when I get home.

My first playthrough was a sword and board warrior, and there wasn't any shortage of decaps. I like the two hander stab through the stomach better.

Ah...too bad someone can't just hit an opponent hard enough to send their head flying with the blunt weapons. That certainly keeps my wardens from using such weapons in the future, as I have yet to do so.

Finally managed to get to the promised shot. This is what a tiny little elf with 2 "daggers" can do. It's so much fun!!

Too bad you can't keep the heads, and when you go to someone like Ignacio, toss the head at their feet and ask, "Job done, now where's my money?"
