The four dimensions that define our world of reality are only some of many that are theorized by cosmologists, physicists, etc. Extradimensionality isn't that hard to imagine if you put yoursef in Legion's shoes. As a matter of fact, you'd think Geth would be a little further along than they are.
Geth still think 2 dimensionally, bits and bytes, but haven't fully embraced the 3 dimensions of space. Even Time is inconsequential when viewed from their 2D world. But Legion is forced to use 3D space as more than just an apendage of his 2D world by accepting the individuality put upon him by Shep. To move from a 2D world into a 3D one, you must accept individuality - unique physical information.
Summing it all up, Shep is actively helping the Geth to evolve. And somewhere in there is a tie to Legion's N7 armour.

This really belongs over in one of the ME2 forums, not really in the ME1 forum. That aside, even if a machine uses binary for code, it doesn't mean it can't be used in 3,4,5,6,7,8 or more dimensions. I mean modern computers at base level still use binary, but are quite able to handle animating three dimensional environments. Using base 2 just means the decimal representation of the numbers tends to be larger.

You'll have a seperate variable for each dimension such as

length=x
width=y
height=z

And you'd use a number to represent each one, it makes absolutely no difference what number base system you use to do the calculation in.  You could use base 2, base 10, or base 2367,  as long as you know which one you're using any number can be represented in any base.

Did I put this in the wrong section? Damn. No doubt an evil grin will show up to set things straight.

You're quite right tho. Dimensions outside an observers' existence can be defined and quantified, but they can't be experienced or manipulated. That's the problem humans have with quantum mechanics. We can conclude, within our 4 dimensions, the effects and results of extradimensionality on our universe, but we can't interact with or affect higher dimensions without first creating tools that exist at least in part in those dimensions.

Geth have that tool: physical 3D existence. But they have yet to understand the full consequences of physical reality. Not the least of which is individuality. Being sentient in our universe requires this. Similar to the old adage - "When in Rome...", Geth must learn the rules and limits of 3D in order to survive in it. Remaining as one Geth with many platforms is too precarious a position for continued existence in our universe. A "single, well placed shot" of some sort can eliminate them all.
