Dont get me wrong these complaints were valid but they just needed to be better implemented not removed.

Personally I had no problem at all with the first game i thought it was fine just as is, but then coming on the forums the hate spewed like lava. The only problem i had with ME2 was my inventory was taken away. Also a case of "you don't miss it till it gone" as well.lawp79 wrote...
Tbh I sort of agree, though no ones opinion on here has adjusted mine at all. However way back before mass effect 2 was released there was a huge amount of moaning on these forums about the elevators, which were removed and replaced with crappy load screens. Planet exploration was also moaned about as being boring (which it was) and also the terain etc, again this was removed.
Dont get me wrong these complaints were valid but they just needed to be better implemented not removed.

I trust companies like BW to do something themselves and filter out the feedback from players, so they make something original and not listen to 100 different conflicting opinions - so far whatever they have been doing works for me

Yes because it is oh so difficult to ignore them.

I mean, if we've got the ability to care and give thought to what is going on (or in this case the game we are experiencing), surely that understanding should enrich the experience.
Even with all the complaints and blind praise I've read here, I still enjoy mass effect; in fact more than when I was unaware of certain things.

Obviously tastes are different. My take, leave out the relationships and its just another shooter. I love Bioware games because they tend to give your characters life outside the hack and slash elements,

Seeing it hailed as "the best thing ever", then I sit down to play it and go: "No, it's not!". I used to think it was an OK game, but now I dislike it because of overbearing fans, kinda like it happened with FF7 on it's time.

Before visiting the forums, the game was like a "playable dream" for me, but now it's just a game. A really, really good game. (...well, both ME1 and 2)
I hope this "playable dream" feeling comes again with ME3, I really do.

Don't get my wrong, one of my favourite things is talking with the companions and learning stuff, it's differen't.
But some people are taking it too far, "I want a wedding in ME3 and little children"
These loners are seriously annoying me.

Yeah, that's taking it a little far. But relationships are quite OK in my book. Makes the game more lively than playing just an asexual killing machine.

Simply put, these threads are great fun when you are speculating what the game will be like. But once the game is out, internet anonymity rears its ugly pox ridden face and every other thread is a mind numbing complaint about how the game sucks by someone incapable of any common sense.
I used to argue. Then one day I remembered that the only reason I was even on this forum is because I was bored at work.

Even a few seconds analysing the criticism shows much of it either shallow and narrow (it isn't X and everything that isn't X is bad) or hyper-critical (it isn't nobel prize winning literature so it sucks, neverminding that such literature wouldn't translate to the screen as long as I can snob it up). It's funny how the criticism on this forum could be copy/pasted from almost any other forum. Oblivion sucked because it wasn't Morrowind. Battlestar Galactica season 2 sucked because it wasn't season 1.
Again, there is good criticism too. I think much of it, along with ME3 wishlists, will make that game better. But yeah, don't come to official forums to share your fandom. It's not the best place for it.

I do think forums like these provide good feedback to the devs. There are certainly things pointed out that can make it a better gaming experience for all.
First rule of company life: Don't listen to boards, since the ones posting are the minority of a minority.
I'm neither flaming posters who believe in having a voice nor the companies who don't listen, but its a fact. They usually get their inputs in other, more reliable ways.

Guess they shoulda followed that rule when making ME2 then.

In my opinion EA/Bioware almost ruined the series with the Mass Effect 2 Extreme. I hopefully they will step back from the brink with ME3 and get back to what make this series great.

I hope not. IMO ME 2 came close to making ME1 unplayable. I still love ME 1 but ME2 is loads better and they fixed all the issues I had.Knottedredloc wrote...
