In high school, I heard this a lot. Some of my classmates would get into a circle and started gloating about how many girls they dated like it was some game. Now as I get older, it seems like people around me gloat about how many girls they banged or something. I can't help but wonder if this is what a lot of people are coming? Probably. I sometimes see one guy kissing an other girl in the middle of the halls like their both soulmates and then the next week, do the same to the other.

A friend of mine broke up with his old gf on saturday (a week ago, not today :P), started dating her best friend on wednesday and on friday night was telling this new gf that he loved her. LOVED! After two f*cking days! Others friends have all exhibited similar behavior. So yeah...

It's called infatuation, not love. Love always takes time. Infatuation may turn into love, but rarely does love at first sight ever occur.

I think when you are a teenager you are in a stage of life where you are trying to work out what you want and what your place in the world is. Experimenting with various relationships is part of this. Each infactuation is strong but has a short shelf life. In high school girls were just like any other fashion accessory for me. I showed them off then within 2 weeks i was bored of them and threw them away.

I think they do to a certain extent. Guys typically will date the hottest girl in high school, and then he will date her friends normally. Jerk moves like this, are supposed to earn him extra browine points among his friends talking about what a "Player" he is and he's just that "Smooth"

However if a female dates a guy, and then dates his best friend. Automaticly she's branded something that starts with the S word by the guy. She can gloat how cute she thinks the guy is but if she details anything sexual with more then one guy to her friends in a small period she will gain a nasty rep.

It's a complete double standred I know. If a guy can date a girl and his friend, gloat about it have an inflated ego. Why can't a female without getting her self esteem torn down. But besides that when kids are young they do dumb things because of inexperience and

Of course Hormones rageing through your body. As everyone know hormones are what causes a guys voice to deepen, muscules to grow and during the stage of I estimate 13-19 they are at a peak of the hormones mix that with going to public school where you have least 5 girls in your class and you would be blind not to see the outcome

Even if your an over protective parent, or let's your kid do what they want. Expect for the very rare cases. Kids normally get involed in things they shouldn't at this young age. Thing's so vulgar they dare not even repeat it to their parents, instead act like the honor roll glowing child who can do no wrong.

What a retarded thread. Really, can I ask if Rice Krispies are frakking awesome or not? Can I make a thread about it on the Bioware forums?

You know what? Before the advent of online forums, we somehow grew up and dealt with personal issues. If the op can't manage this, maybe he should try counseling...

You this whole thread reminds me of how I met this cougar. Her name was Erin, I liked her. She kinda flirted with me. But at the end of the day I discovered she was two decades older then yours truly and had two kids. It never would have worked out between us.

But anyhow Captain Obvious, some of it is just hormones and for other men the reason they "brag" is because they really really like their girlfriend. And "bragging" is a means to say to other men in a manly way that you lover her and she is (currently) the best thing that has ever happened to you.

Did I ever tell you about my tour in Vietnam? I remember it like it was yesterday, Charlie is burnt into my memory, burnt, I see em' when I go to bed at nights. Anyhow that's another story.

Sure this kind of thing happens with teenagers, but more than anything, certain personalities are more likely to engage in this kind of behavior than others. People like this do tend to be considered part of the "popular" groups, and then people who aren't strong enough to be happy with themselves as they are look to gain approval from said group by mimicking their actions. And then there are people who see relationships and romance as a special thing, something to be valued and not spent lightly. In the end, it is these people who know what it means to love, and who experience true passion.

The title of this thread makes it sound like this is a new phenomenon. It's not.

That said, I agree with RedHawk that the mentality goes with a certain personality and a certain group, and is certainly not exhibited by all teenagers nor restricted to that age group.

My roommate and best friend is one that... uhh... switches girlfriend every week or so. He calls it "Some moments of fun before I really fall in love and have a family". I guess that's... a strange but commendable behavior. Having fun before not to cheat on his possible wife later.

I myself am in... uhh, let's say "love" right now. It's not ending really well for me but hell, she's a good friend, and I am not egoistic so I am fine as it is. It has been 2 months now. So nope, I don't take things too lightly.

Sorry to say but I don't think he will find love that way. I have had friends like that and as soon as they date someone for more then just a week they find love and that is far more "fun"imo:whistle:

Some do and some don't.

Personally, I tend to treat my trophies like girlfriends.

I will not elaborate.
