Why do male wardens all get the opportunity to have a kid by the end of the game but not us girls? I think I already posted about this but I don't know where the old topic went. I'm still wondering. After all the "attempts" with Alistair/Zevran we don't get to have any chillens?

It's stupid and unfair.

The darkspawn taint makes Wardens very nearly sterile. It's considered a small miracle for a Warden to have a child with a non-Warden partner, and I believe (though I could be wrong, I don't have the desire to fish up the quote as of now) DG has said it's impossible for two Wardens to have a child. One assumes that Morrigan's ritual helped with fertility, along with whatever other necessary things she needed for the OGB.

Well if you sleep with her at some point but then decline the ritual, it says she got preggo by the Warden anyway. As in, without the help of any magic whatsoever.

UNFAIR. Us girls want Zev babies. Fiona was a Warden and had Maric's brat...

P.S, the "it's impossible for two wardens to make brats together!" is obviously just some crap they pulled out of thin air to utterly ruin Alistair's character and romance. What a soul and heart crusher.

Actually not all of us girls want Zev babies. Just saying. :)

It doesn't really bother me tbh. I would only be concerned on a Queen Cousland run because of the whole no heir thing but *shrugs* oh well.

It is possible. Extremly slim, but possible.

I do agree though that if it's very difficult for warden to have a child with a non-warden that should simply mean that it's very very difficult for two warden's to have a child together. For the dev's to basically wiggle their fingers and say "It's maaaagic" that two wardens are completely infertile together is just .... yeah.

Actually Rampant, I'm fairly sure that DG said it was actually impossible *barring the use of magic* for two wardens to have children together.

I had a whole big speech prepared before I realized that this was the no spoiler forum, so I will just stick to saying that the devs didn't feel comfortable having a pregnant Warden running about slaughtering darkspawn. Even if we're thinking post-expansion/DLC, it's easier to say nothing about having children, and let people fill in the blanks. There are a lot of people who are not interested in having kiddos.

Well we get a pregnant Morrigan running around blasting darkspawn. What didfference does it make? Males get to have kids so I want females to have kids too.

The difference is you are playing the Warden, and by the time Awakenings rolls around? You'd be showing. Heavily. Wade is awesome and all, but I'm not sure he could manage a suit of armor for a pregnant woman. I think it'd offend his sensibilities if nothing else.

I get what you're saying, I have a few Wardens that'd love to have babies, and I've admittedly ignored canon just to have my happy ending (like most fanfic writers) at times, but it's just not how they wanted to deal with things. Plus, it's not like male Wardens get a happy ending because they knocked Morri up. In fact, they get a decidedly less satisfactory one than Alistair romanceers, in my opinion.

With some good thinking it wouldn't be hard to fit armor over your stomach at 6 months... assuming she got pregnant RIGHT at the end of DAO (since the game apparently takes place over a year). If not she could have had her kid already and since she's a noble now she can leave it in the care of a nanny while she's away

Female wardens can't carry a baby to term.  The taint kills the infant in utero.

Morrigan romances end at Witch Hunt, nor Origins; therfore, they can have a child and be with the mother.

Wrong.  This is the most probable outcome, but not what always happens, as long as the father is not a Warden.

Dayshadow ... that is untrue. The taint does not kill the child nor is the child born with the taint. See Fiona's child.

Butterfly, I fail to see WHY a heavily pregnant woman would WANT to risk the life of her child by constantly getting into battle. Armor would only do so much.

You're right. I am wrong.  They aren't fertile at all so there would never be a child to die in utero to begin with.

Let's just say the lack of female Warden fertility is probably a good thing in this particular case.

Fiona's body was purged of the taint. She was technically no longer a warden.

My Warden is just that virile.

Serious answer: Morrigan's pregnancy is a plot device. It's not fan service. Having a kid trainwrecks the story unless your Warden is a deadbeat dad (like he is with Morrigan). Fan service pregnancy would probably have to be done during a 12-24 month downtime in the story and wouldn't really be worth the effort or resources.

Ew no. Males and penises are crappy, I hate males and male wardens, virility my arse, I want my ladies to have kids.

If they did it right she could have had her babe right before Awakening and left it with a nanny since she's a noble now.

And I thought the Taint was incurable? If there's a cure why can't the Warden go grab it? Still, Fiona was a Warden and she got preggo and had a baby so there.

Serious serious answer: This isn't the Sims. Go have an actual kid if you want one so badly. Or adopt. Plenty of orphaned children would jump at the chance to have a mommy.

We're talking about a video game world and our characters, not ourselves. We want our characters to have kids... male AND female characters.

Serious serious serious answer: This really isn't the Sims. I'd like for my mage Warden to be able to kick back with Oghren, Zevran, and Alistair and enjoy some of the finest weed in the south farthing while Leliana plays the lute. That doesn't mean it's a feature that should be included. Use your imagination.
