Females cant have kids in the game because of the DLC timeline. There is a 2 month time difference between Origins and Awakening and 2 months into pregnancy would be a dangerous time to go about fighting Darkspawn, no?

If it's optional that would be even better. But I don't care, men shouldn't be able to make little bastards if us girls can't.

What if she doesn't know yet?

And Morrigan was running around fighting darkspawn while pregnant so whats the big deal?

Trust me, They would know, and Morrigan doesnt go fighting Darkspawn after she leaves. She goes to the mountains alone I believe. True she fights one day after "doing the do" with the male Warden but I think she would be ok.

Yeah, but the Warden sleeps with her long before the DR so she's preggo for quite some time at least before going away.

Yes, but supposedly the Dark ritual is the time where she actually conceives as its believed that she somehow used her magic to make herself uber fertile.

i dont like females getting jipped in a video game either but the facts are there.

Day ... reread the last part of The Calling. I don't want to post any spoilers.

So you think David Gaider is a liar?  Fair enough.  Who cares what a writer says about his own work.  Clearly you guys know more than he does about it.

Yes but if you decline the DR then it shows she got pregnant by the Warden anyway. While after a year and several DLC us female Wardens are still left out in the cold. Why can't we have had some luck with Zev, or one of the many sexual encounters we had with other men during the story?

Technically, the male Warden doesn't get to have 'kids.' He gets to be a deadbeat dad who gave nothing but genetic material to a scheming woman who walked out on him.

I don't know about you, but my female Warden preferred what she got from Alistair without having to go down that route. Call me crazy.

Having a kid is not the same thing as having a family.

Get from Alistair? You mean a half baked breakup speech chocked full of BS? Uh no. I hate Alistair. That pig.

My lady Warden wants a kid so she has something to do after the Spawn leave with the Architect.

Hm ... Day you seem a little hostile. Really I'm not trying to start a fight here. If Mr. Gaider has mentioned on the forums that Fiona was cleansed of the taint and THEN got pregnant then I am unaware of it. I have only the book to go by and as I said I don't want to post book spoilers here.

Edit:  I am also not trying to call anyone a liar.

This thread in a nutshell:
I WANT A BABY I WANT A BABY I WANT A BAAAABYYYYY!!!11!11!11!!1!1ONE!1!!1SHIFT!CAPS!11!

Just because you DEMAND it doesn't mean you'll GET it.

It is the way it is. DEAL WITH IT.

Besides, the male Warden having a child with Morrigan isn't exactly the same. And before you go like "OMG DAT KID RAN OUT OF DAT WARDUNZZ", it was Morrigan who left in the first place. The Warden was just a "supplier" to her. And in my eyes, the DR was more of a means to evade the US.

Apparantly, every opposing view is interpreted as "hostile" on forums. Especially when they're not.

AFAIK, girls always have the kids in DAO..... *Morrigan bazinga*

As far as female Wardens, you could try to get captured along the way, but it is not recommended,

I'm wondering what would happen with the end of game royal marriage situation if Grey Wardens have such slim chances of having kids since the PC will have the taint and so will Alistair if he is the king. It's implied during the game that Anora may have fertility problems too since she and Cailan never had kids...it seems irresponsible on the part of both the PC and both the royals to not make better arrangements regarding the succession (having said that, I still want to romance Alistair with a female Human Noble warden next time I play)

"Because I don't want to be bored when the fighting is over" is not a wise or responsible reason to have a baby.

Bah! There you go again, with your "rational" perspective and your logic!

They could adopt kids orphaned in the war....then raise them to be Grey Wardens.

Because it's Dragon Age and not Dragon Sims.

Come on, you've been around.

Haha - I was gutted by the epilogue in which my character's future with Zevran was vague so I tried to make Dragon Age characters on Sims 3 but they didn't work out too well. If I had still been playing Sims 2 it would have worked becasue the game has a template for elven ears and has some sets of armour in the clothing. Ah well! May try it when I get Sims Medieval instead!

Look away children.

Women are probably slightly more sterile then males, considering males can make new sperm continually throughout their adult life. Women have all the eggs they will have their whole life time. Considering that face, it's not so hard to see that women will have a harder time making babies then men. I'm not saying it wouldn't be cool for my Warden to have a little elfling, but it's very impossible.

Two Grey Wardens having children has now been deemed impossible.

My opinion - none of the Landsmeet outcomes guarantee an heir.

1.  Anora never remarries
2.  Grey Warden/Alistair - no babies - slim chance if Female Grey Warden finds a different father for them (but then they'd hardly be heirs - technically speaking)
3.  Grey Warden/Anora - low chance.  Even lower if Anora is barren and it wasn't Cailan
4.  Alistair alone - low chance again, assuming he even marries.

I think that this is deliberately setting up Ferelden to have no clear contender to the throne after this lot.  Possibly for future games.

Again IMHO and YMMV.
