Is there any kind of index for them? I know there is for Shepard's classes, but I'm interested in how to build up the various squadmates, and don't see anything for that...

There were some threads about how people build their team, but they are all quite old and generally too broad. The effectiveness of a given squadmate and the way you design that squadmate's build can depend on Shepard's class. I am of the opinion that either each squadmate should have a guide thread, or that the threads tackling specific class strategies also detail which squadmates work best with that class and how their builds should be crafted.
