Origins things you hope DA2 lacks

Blank Vellums - again, as stated before
Now, I'm all for more combat and lots of encounters but one thing that can stay in Origins are the complete curb-stomp battles against hopelessly weak mobs. There were way too many Deepstalker encounters in Orzimmar and Darkspawn 'Grunts' in the final battle. Sure, there's nothing wrong with having a single encounter or two like this to make the player feel like a badass, but it shouldn't be used to pad things out.
Also, modes that grant immunity to knockdown should make the character immune to frakking overwhelm attacks as well!

I'm fine with throwing flasks and such turning into abilities the characters instead of items they consume.

err...i take it that Shepard V DV is a mod? Never ever saw anything like that while playing
It's a joke coupled with an awesome screen from an awesome mod.
But now we must add that quest to Origins. With a mod.
Ah. Jokes and sarcasm tend to fly over my head on the internet

Commander Shepard.
I don't remember that in Origins...
He was the guy fighting with Darth Vader that you get to choose who to help. If you chose Shepard, you got a gun, Darth Vader, a lightsaber.
What the hell are you guys talking about?
I meant the dude with the beard who recruited me into the Grey Wardens.

I would get rid of most of the loot and just have players find special armor and weapons and certain treasures to sell. Useless loot is an annoying thing that's been around since the RPGs of the 80s and it needs to go. Also hope they lose the fade or do something really different with it
Mass Dragon Effect Hawke Armour 2?
Now, I suppose after derailing the thread a bit I'd better actually contribute.
That's a pretty hard one to be honest, I suppose I'd like to get rid of companion gifts apart from the few that actually initiated dialogue.
I prefer talking to my companions, not showering them with trinkets to unlock bits of diaglogue about their past and their opinons on the present aswell as my actions. It felt a little too hollow to me.

List/mention anything from the original game that you hope will not be returning in Dragon Age 2.
Let me kick this off with:
Evil, evil, EVIL giant spiders who like to drop from the ceiling behind my character but within camera view, hissing loudly as they do so, causing me to shriek in surprise; and to top it all of, then they have to crawl all over me during the actual fight! Maker's breath, I hate those things! PLEASE let them be missing from DA2!
I had to grin, because exactly this thing happened to me yesterday when I started as a mage. In my whole first playthrough nothing ever got me to actually shriek, but those circle tower cave spiders are especially evil. O.o
Though moments like that make the game even more fun for me.
I hope there will be less caves. They all look the same. With all the ruins and obviously the Deep Roads the general gloominess factor was high enough and the worst part about the Blight was the Darkspawn's idea of redecorating anyway, so I really enjoyed the forest areas. Make me go fetch 10 body parts of whatever monster in one of those instead of another cave.

I agree... I hope Hawke doesn't stand around like my warden while talking doing hardly anything at all... not even many facial expressions.

And the nonsensically limited inventory space. That was silly. If we're not going to have a realistic carry limit, then the limit should be high enough that we're not going to run into it inside a single dungeon (like the Circle Tower).
But that's about it. DAO really is a terrific game, and I don't have many complaints with it.

- The Fade in Origins - even though I understood what I had to do and where I had to go it was way too long. I have read about some people who gave up the entire game during the Fade because they didn't enjoy the puzzle/repetition factor. After at least four playthroughs, I ended up installing the No Fade mod to retain my sanity.
- Craptastic loot or no loot especially off elite monsters/creatures, WTF!
- Companion banter being set to trigger just as your PC approaches a quest giver/npc - if you click on that NPC during the approach too quickly you end up missing the banter wahhhhhh
- Fights near or in doorways - pathing issues galore
- The Dark Ritual

Perhaps, but often (especially in Redcliffe Castle and in the ruins of the Lair of the Werewolves) when I'm playing my melee character and one of the other companions just stands there, stuck, blocking all access to the mobs, or becomes stuck behind an open door

The thing I would like to not be in da2 is long raid like quests underground, like deeproads. I liked the deeproads in awakening fine but origins deep roads really needed to instead have multiple shorter quests that you return from so that you can have natural breaks to go and do stuff in another area, or just have the main quest there be shorter and make up for the lost gameplaytime with NEW quests in different areas.
Edit: Oh and I hate the spiders too, I know they're gonna be in da2 which I can handle, it's just the way they dropped on me from above that I really don't want, made me squeal. I hate squealing<_<

Really when a creature did some kind of grab and wouldn't let go until I died, it was the only time I felt cheated while playing.
Yeah, especially those damn giant spiders that knock you down and start eating your face. If it's just me in the party, I might as well be dead because there's nobody to knock it off. Maybe give me a way to struggle out of it? Mashing the left click button would actually be useful in this scenario. Same with the ogres grabbing and pummelling me.

It's even worse when there's 4 or 5 of them and they just keep doing it till you die, without giving you a chance to escape (CHILDERS)
