1. A remote control drone dieing killing its controller remotely is the dumbest idea i have ever heard. its up there with putting c4 in your control consoles so people get their faces blown off when the shields get shot.
2. The Geth have multiple fleets of 5,000 to 10,000 ships each. combat capabilities are unknown.

So you don't think that mind control is dumb, at all? In any case, watch the vids and think over what you see next time.

EOF.

The amount of Foreshadowing used in describing how the Derelict Reaper was destroyed is impossible to miss.

If you dont understand:

That'll be one of the ways we pwn the Reapz.

I certainly didn't mean it to sound like a standard procedure of sorts. I was speculating on how the mind control ability works here. Or speculating on why we can't speculate any further, to be exact.

I don't think it was conventional mind control so much as body control. Saren was rebuilt by the reapers and was 'dead' when Sovereign reanimated him.

The collectors change form and abilities increase when direct control is used on them, and we know they have been radically altered (since we know they were once Protheans).

Of course this brings up, who built the Reapers?

I am sure the Reapers took over the galaxy in the same way the Geth took almost everything from their Quarian creators.

That seems plausible.  The Reapers seem to have an ego and make themselves out to be God-like but someone built them initially.  Maybe the race that took one out thus creating the derelict Reaper is that race.

I find myself hoping ME3 goes into that more.  Knowing how they were built might give ideas on how to kill them.

It is possible that they are the race that built them, having heavily modified their own people just as they did the protheans

As I've mentioned earlier, unless I am totally off on what I heard on my super Renegade playthrough, Legion told me that the Reapers were organics who uploaded themselves to the ships. This was after I saved the collector base and asked him for his opinion on the matter.

Of course, I have no saves to reload and double check what he said - and no one on Youtube seems to have recorded his endgame comments. There's videos for everyone else, but not Legion.

Of course even if Legion did say that, it isn't really conclusive without knowing where Legion got that info from. I mean it certainly is NOT like the Geth could have any firsthand info since they are a recently created species, so I don't see how they could be accepted as a reliable source on this subject. We would need to find out where they heard this, and then evaluate the reliability of THAT source.

I'll check if legion said that if so, the geth can never achieve that level of advancement.

Ok so for those who have just started playing the game for the first time and dont want the game ruined,
you may or may not want to read this. (Spoiler)

Ok anyway so i'm trying to come to terms of how this derelict reaper ship got destroyed?
In mass effect 1 it took everyone just to take sovereign down, but someone billions of years
before was able to kill one. How does that work? So the game is saying that over the years
the individual races just got dumber? I dont get it, who or what killed this thing? I really hope
that bioware will explain this somewhere along the line because i'm curious to know how this
thing got destroyed. I'm sure there is alot of people just noticing this to and wandering to how
this happened, but i'm also sure that there are some that believe, that was the one time the reapers
had it out with one another, but then that don't make sense either because if that was true then where
are all the other ships that where destroyed to.. And then there's something that the council said in me1
about how there was no evidence of this race of machines ever found, but yet on the galaxy map the reaper
ship is in a star system that was surrounded by other systems in mass effect 1 that you visited and was in
council space.  Just saying this makes no sense so I hope someone can explain this.

It just means that 37 millions years ago someone failed his ME0 playthrough.

Reapers aren't indestructible, pure and simple, if they were ME3 would have to end with a big YOU LOSE.

Nazara/Sovereign told them, I assume. Though, as I said, he could have been lying to them.

Man, I really wish I hadn't saved Shadow Broker for after the SM - that is why I have no saves to double check what Legion said. For some reason I over-wrote ALL of the SM saves with a bunch of Normandy saves that are right next to eachother. No idea what I was thinking, there.

If someone has access to the sound files on PC, they could find out what he said that way.

Legion's last dialogue option (4th or 5th, can't remember) that most people aren't able to access since he is obtained so late in the game, states that the non-heretic Geth are building a Dyson Sphere around a star and once it is finished they intend to upload EVERY Geth program into it. In effect, turning themselves into a Reaper.

^This one I know is correct. It is also on Youtube.

Weellll....being a Reaper is as much about how they act as what type of physical body they inhabit. But the Geth all being uploaded into a DySphere would make them a jumbonious group intelligence. Reaper's seem to be individuals, not group minds. But that is nitpicking really..sorry. In any case it sounds like the Geth are really taking this issue of wanting to be left alone to an somewhat extreme conclusion. But it also sounds like they have sense enough to know that its of no use as long as they remain under threat of Reaper invasion.
