It seems that if you upgrade vigil's keep and choose to save Amaranthine the some people manage to live and others die, no matter what.

Can someone tell me who actually survives and who doesn't, if they stay at the keep so I'd know who to take?

Do a "hard save" before you chose so you can go back and take the others later.

Spoiler If you leave Velana a wall falls on her but no body can be found, leave Justice and he loses his head, so take them.

I took Velanna, Justice and Sigrun with me to save Amaranthine. Anders, Oghren and Nathaniel all survived in a fully-upgraded Keep.

**SPOILERS**

IF you have done all the upgrades to Vigil's Keep and save Amaranthine:
Anders, Nathaniel, Oghren will survive.
Velanna will get crushed by a wall, Sigrun will make a heroic last stand, and Justice will get decapitated - though even if you take him with you and he survives Awakenings, he is fated to quit Kristoff's body sooner or later anyway (apparently voluntarily) depending on whether you did his side quest.
But if you're taking Justice, Sigrun and Velanna with you on the final mission, be prepared for a big old argument over the Architect. Velanna will insist you spare him - the others will bay for his blood, and will actually attack you if you fail to persuade them to your way of thinking.

Funnily enough, Velanna's rep loss for killing the Architect (with a Persuade check passed I assume) is only -3. I still had ludicrously high approval with her, enough that she saved the human village in the epilogue slide. Which makes little sense, but whatever.

Justice eventually dies no matter what you do with him. Velanna may or may not have died, but I'm going with the idea she saved herself by pulling herself into the earth again like she did when you first meet her. But she wont end up trying to make amends to humans. She'll just disappear.

I think my favorite bit during that was convincing the Messenger to help me in the city and sparing him afterwards. He decides he enjoys saving people and becomes 'Batman' afterwards. Completely worth the few negative points I got with my companions.
