I dont understand why some people hate how the Qunari, have been redesigned

No its the people who hate the redesign because it 'goes against cannon' that i find odd, or for that matter people who are adamant that it is cannon and that the clues are all there in dragon age origins.
Why can't people accept that clearly what the designers (well ok i cant talk for them but i'm pretty sure im right on this matter) have though was that although the Qunari whilst having a massively interesting story to them, looked a bit bland as a race, at some points i wondered if they were actually a different race to humans, or if they just belived they were whilst actually being the same race but with different abilities due to there environment (there have been cultures in history that refused to be called humans having belived they were not), but the new design fixes that, they're definitely not human.
I suppose my main point of ire here is that i never for a second though anything wrong with a re-design, it may be because i have studied graphic design in the past and now am working towards animation, so in my mind it works as if i feel soemthing needs to be changed even if the initial idea/ design for them is already released, then why not? if it works better for the story, and feel/look of the game then yes deffinatly change it,
I suppose its also a matter of trust for me, the bioware team have created a great game with Origins, and i for one am going to trust that every decision they make 2 is to try and improve it.

Canon = fixed story element.
Grammar **** aside, I like the changed look personally. It makes sense with Ogres being horned as far as canon goes.

But I like the new art direction the game has taken, including the Qunari redesign.

People don't fear change in general. They just don't understand if something is getting changed for the worse or if the change wasn't necessary in their eyes. I could think of a lot of things about DA:O that could have been improved. The look of the Qunari was never one of them. Also humaniods with hornes of that size is simply stupid. Horns where ever the show up in nature are tools or weapons. Why would any humanoid life form grow or use horns to begin with? Ah right, it is fantasy. I guess we can be lucky Qunari don't look like pink winged elephants now.
Great news, bioware changed the qunari look!

I think it all comes down to that they didn't appear to have horns in Origins. I personally like the change, BUT I would have wanted them to have had horns in Origins as well. Saying that only some Qunari are born without horns seems like a stretch since ALL qunari you saw in Origins were horn-less. From Sten, to the Beresaad¨warriors in Sten's Fade nightmare, to the qunari mercenary you quite frequently bump into... they were all without horns. It's not impossible that all qunari we saw were these special horn-less qunari, or Tal'Vashoth, but it just doesn't seem plausible. Either way, I'm fine with the redesign, but I would have liked them to looks a bit more like they did in Origins.
Coincidently we had no horned Qunari in DA:O and we won't see any bronze/non-horned Qunari in DA2. Simple reason it was a retcon, just that it probably happened when they started to work on DA2, which was before DA:O was released. So they just had to rewrite the codex entry. It was probably too late to get it into dialogue, which is why Sten never mentioned it.

Do I like the new darkspawn look? yes
Go I like the fact that if I was given 2 shots of Darkspawn Hurlocks, one from DA2 and one from DAO, I would have been convinced the two were not the same creature? no

It's the same with the Qunari. Anyone watching the trailer without knowing it is a Qunari wouldn't have guessed it is one.

True, it was pretty damn awesome seeing Sten in massive armor trading blows with a High Dragon with his sword in DAO, that made me wet my pants!

No it's actually true, a friend of mine was like "what's up with these demon creature's the guy is fighting?" and I was like "They're Qunari" and he was like "Hell no" and I was like "Hell yeah" and he was like...nightcobra8928 wrote...

Well anyway he didn't recognise them as Qunari because the design had changed, so it's definitely true that they look different enough that it is not immidiately obvious.

saying it that your statement is representative of the majority is a bit much, after all if i remember correctly there were people that recognized the character as a qunari, didn't recognize him as a qunari and others who were suspecting that there was a probability of that character being a qunari.
unless we account them all it's difficult to see what was the general reaction of people that saw the trailer. just seeing some reactions on some sites doesn't account as valid, at least to me.

In fact one thing I really like about making at least some of them more beastial looking is that it pushes them into the 'cultured beast' category. Looking at their size and potentially beast like appearance gives the impression they will be a typical aggressive and unthinking enemy probably focused on fighting etc. But obviously as you find out more about them the player discovers that the Qunari are much more interesting than that.
Tangents are fun.

Granted, in the Destiny trailer, he was barechested. But, every other time you see Qunari without armor [I'm hoping, (and I'm talking in-game& pieces of info outside of the game.)] it's just them in their basic form.
