When I first created my Shepard her eyelashes were quite visible. Suddenly, in the middle of my game, I realized that her eyelashes were gone and  that her eyes were a different shape from what I originally selected. So... is this a glitch? Or was it glitched before and now she's "fixed"? She looks quite weird without eyelashes...

Well, her eyelashes were back for a while, but now they're gone again and now none of the eye shapes have eyelashes.

Ive never heard of that before... are you sure it has nothing to do with the light or background?

This is a glitch that happens on the PC and 360 as well. Usually it happens at the very beginning on those platforms. The only way to "fix" it is to save where you're at, quit the game entirely, start it back up, and then load the save.

Was your character wearing any sort of headgear around the time you noticed the glitch? I had a character in Saints Row 2 go spontaneously bald after a mission that required a helmet. In that game, hats sometimes change your hair style to something that can be properly displayed with it, and helmets remove it completely. In this instance, it failed to reload the hair afterward.

No, I don't bother with helmets. It just comes and goes when it pleases basically. But saving then re-loading does bring her eyelashes back so at least there's a quick fix.

yep had this problem as well. happened to me after creating a character, didn't like the face, so i restarted the game. just quit to xmb, chill, and startup mass effect 2 again and their back.

Nope. But the Ace Ventura walk is crazy. Shepard walks/runs around the Normandy and all I can think of is Jim Carrey.
