I have a really wierd problem with the game

Whenever I try to load the game all I get is a black silhouette of sheperd as he would be in game. He moves and there is a light on the back of his armour but that is it. I cannot play the game  because all i see is this silhoutte imposed on the background of the main menu.

Any help or tips would be appriciated very much
