Hey,
I've played through both ME games multiple times but always on normal. Im about to try my first ever game on hardcore before trying out Insanity! But i have a few questions first..

1. Squad powers on or off??
I normally leave them off so that when im in need of a power i know that i will have the option. not to mention im really not sure if they use there powers well in general (for example do they choose the best target).
Also while on the subject do your squad AI increase with the difficulty because on Normal i have to revive them alot due to if i dont choose cover for them they mostly die..Especially against Scions..

2. Increase in enemy protection??
I know that the higher the difficulty the more protection they get such as Armor/Barriers etc but am really not sure how much?

3.Biotics?
Is adept or a Biotic teammate like jack/samara really worth it seeing all the enemies will have tons of protection or woul it be best to have a team to strip all defenses Quickly and finish with guns.

4.Tactics against worst enemies for me..
I HATE SCIONS, and husks/abominations.. in normal it seems like years to kill scions and husks always seem to close ground on me!! And thats when they dont have armor..

5. Easiest class for Shepard??
Well im guessing that adept or vanguard is guna be hard due to youre guna either need cover (vanguard) or never use any biotics (adept) so i was wondering what the easiest will be?? Engineer? Sentinel? Soldier?

6. Mech's Weak spot??
on YMIR mechs the official guide says shoot its weak spot but really i cant see one.. lol
I guessed the head but it really doesnt seem to do that much dmg.

You might want to play veteran first...

1. Off. From Hardcore and onwards, you'd best be micro'ing your guys.

2. Just enough to make you have to plan before warp combo'ing. Most protections will come off in a few shots.

3. Biotics are worth it. Once protections are gone, biotics are still the fastest way to clear crowds.

4. Go and exploit stasis, flashbangs, drones, etc. on them. You have a good excuse now ;). Anyway, only the standard enemies get noticeably stronger on Hardcore.

5. Whatever you're best at. Soldier requires minimal adjustment to transition from normal to hardcore/insanity imo, but that also means you will learn the least.

You already answeared the question. Keep it off, but the AI won't change it. They will keep dying if you lay on cover and let they go ahead of you. Instead, try to move ahead of them, and send them to flank enemies, it will make things more easier and prevent enemies from flank you.

The amount of shields/health an enemy
has depends on its level, which depends on Shepard's level.  The
specifics are, as far as I know, not available.  Some players have run
tests with various weapons, powers, and attacks to determine the fastest
way to drop defenses, but beyond that we don't have the details.

Difficulty level is also a factor, as you pointed out.

Yes, they do, but only against certain types of enemies or in combination with others. There was a guild on the forum showing how to improve the use of each of your teammates, but  I can't find them now.

Against Scions, I tend to move to CQC as it will not use his Eezo Shockwave move and when it charges it's aoe move, just melee it and it will stop. Against husks/abominations, an aoe reave, warp or incineration can take their armor in one go, from there, just shoot them in the legs.

IMHO Soldier would be the less demanding class to play on insanity

The AI mechanics when it comes to your team mtaes suck.. when i place them sometimes they then go and hide on the side of a cover and die!! lol not to mention as you stated if i move ahead of them how would i be able to put them behind cover as i would not be able to see that point to direct them to it..

Flag them at the start of a fight and readjust as you move forward.  Or just do what I do and don't flag them at all.  If you don't flag them, though, they will likely die.

That's the thing, basicly if you keep yourself ahead of your team, the enemies will focus on you and your squad will cover you while you move(speciallly if you ordered them to attack a target before moving) and they will take the best cover avaliable fo that.

So what you guys are kinda saying them it might be best to flag enemies for them to fight so they take cover instead of flagging them to cover and hoping they dont die.

I'm playing through Hardcore at the moment for the first time myself :)

1. Squad powers on or off??

I'm running with them on, but I should probably turn them off since I'm telling them what to do most of the time anyway. They still get killed quite a bit (I typically leave them dead and kill everything myself), I need to learn to control them better

2. Increase in enemy protection??

Basically, nearly everything has armor and/or shields. You just need to make sure to use the most effective ability on whatever defense they have up at the time.

3.Biotics?

Warp is still awesome, and once you have defenses stripped they're still damned handy. I frequently will focus one guy for a few seconds, take him down to health, and then duck back into cover while a squad mate uses pull on them to take them out of the fight.

4.Tactics against worst enemies for me..
I HATE SCIONS, and husks/abominations.. in normal it seems like years to kill scions and husks always seem to close ground on me!! And thats when they dont have armor..

Agreed on Scions, those things are utter pains in the arse, I normally need to hide around a corner and abuse the fact that incinerate and warp have the whole arc/curve thing.
Husks/Aboms are easily taken out with either Inferno grenades or a properly placed Singularity biotic.

5. Easiest class for Shepard??
Well im guessing that adept or vanguard is guna be hard due to youre guna either need cover (vanguard) or never use any biotics (adept) so i was wondering what the easiest will be?? Engineer? Sentinel? Soldier?

This is very very playstyle dependent. I've been using Gibbed to flip between the classes so I can test them all. So far Adept and Infiltrator have suited me best. I can see how Vanguard and the charge would be awesome, but I prefer the "Stay back and take them out from cover" playstyle.

6. Mech's Weak spot??
on YMIR mechs the official guide says shoot its weak spot but really i cant see one.. lol

I think the head does extra damage, but I'm not 100%. I usually use pillar-humping methods to take these guys out. Happily, once they are down to health things like Pull take them out of the fight as well.

For me so far, Hardcore is "Don't be an idiot, don't be impatient, and don't let the enemy flank you and you'll be fine" :)
