Assuming you didn't get them killed on purpose: How?!



I had everyone survive my first time and I didn't even use a guide or ask anyone for tips, I just used common sense.

Well, I lost everyone, since I didn't do too many loyalty missions or upgrades. On my next playthrough, I'm going to take my time and try and do everything I can. We'll see how that turns out.

I wasn't responding to the OP. I was actually responding to JeffZero's suggestion of going for more playthroughs, though I did misread that comment as they mention going for eight. I would still disagree.

As for surviving members...you can get them all killed so seven still isn't a record.

EDIT: if you do get most of them killed you get the bad ending.

EDIT 2: for the record I only lost one on my first playthrough and that was Legion.

Well I was more shocked than anything, since it wasn't obvious at the time why everyone was dropping. Now a few stickies later, I see what I have to do to ensure survival.

Those are actually the people I wanted dead, but everyone survived.

I kid, the game does have an amazing finale. With only 3 survivors this really was a suicide mission! I would keep this play though just to see how it fares when ME3 comes along. A second playthough is a must with BioWare games.

A second. Or a third. Or a fourth. Or a fifth. Or even a sixth. Did I mention a seventh? Eighth?

Have to stop at Sixth, at least with the same character.

DAMN, SON! Keep that save for the lulz and do another one. Totally worth it.

Daaaamn. I only lost Legion on my first run. After that I read the guide and now I usually kill off 3 or 4 squaddies for dramatic impact. Losing 7 unintentionally is pretty damn epic. Kudos... I think, heh.

I failed pretty badly on my first playthrough. I lost legion, garrus, miranda, jack, samara and zaeed.(second playthrough everyone survived.)

Oh, I didn't mean to imply seven or eight would be a record, either. I was talking more of what I plan on doing. I saw someone else say they'd played the game through some thirty times earlier, haha.

tali because i didnt have the score to make the paragon or renegade options in her trial and i felt it was more important that she remained part of the migrant fleet to help me rally for ME3 so i ratted out her dad, i sent her through the vents and what do you know... TALI HEADSHOT 4.0 i stood up in my recliner and shouted "INSTANT REPLAY, OH GOD INSTANT REPLAY I MUST SEE THAT AGAIN!"

grunt for the 2nd fire team leader because they were going to be a distraction and i knew i needed a soldier. grunt was made to be the perfect krogan, the perfect soldier, being "taught" by all of the great krogan generals. i thought that was enough, but nooo... he decided to deflect all the shots with his face and died.... i shed a tear for him... a manly tear... AND VOWED ID HAVE MY REVENGE!!!!

edit: oh yeah and i also lost like half of the crew because i didnt know theyd be turned into smoothies if i finished the last two loyalty mission before going to save them

edit 2: and i also sold legion to cerberus

I lost 3 my first time. Annoying part was, I never talked to Jacob so never got his Armour, so (loyal) Jack died on the way to the base, leaving me with no biotic to do the field and survive

Seriously though, how? First playthru I lost Mordin on "Hold the Line" and that was it. Played an NG+ and got everyone though on the 2nd. How, did you follow Jacob's advise or something?

I think the most I ever lost was two. Just check a guide online.

Mordin was holding the line for me on my first playthrough, with Zaeed and grunt dead, and Garrus with me, and he didn't die...at least I think he didn't?

I lost Mordin through the vents my first playthrough and lost half of the crew

First run I lost legion and Mordin. second, third and fourth I lost none.

I actually thought the decisions were pretty easy...I only messed up on the tech one, because I just thought as it was ducts, Thane was a good idea. I actually chose Garrus as fire team leader right. I also chose the right biotic, they just weren't loyal.

Hi guys, I just finished the game for the first time, and man what a bloodbath.  I lost 7 team members.  It seemed like it was just Jacob, Miranda and Shephard survived.  It kind of sets the stage for the whole "final fight for the galaxy and the cost will be high" vibe.  I'll probably play through again and try and save more people.
