I actually wish there were more decisions and they were more difficult. As it stands I still enjoy the heck out of the thing, though.

The collector base was a hard decision for me. It was definitely wrong to take the tech and give it to Cerberus, as they are definately not in the interest of the galaxy, just Cerberus. However, all of that tech could be very useful in defeating the collectors.

Well, I lost everyone, since I didn't do too many loyalty missions or upgrades. On my next playthrough, I'm going to take my time and try and do everything I can. We'll see how that turns out.

Interesting. Why didn't you do the loyalty missions? I'd have thought people wouldn't avoid game content if they could.

Nah...a record would be...all of them..............well, everyone I took with me, anyway. Got to see Shepard die......again.

Well, I sometimes avoid game content for RP reasons.

Indeed. Inquiring minds want to know. If I had to guess, I would say that the Collectors captured the crew.

Some people play games and only really wish to see the main plot unfold. ME2 just happens to be one of those games where the 'main plot', as it were, is all over the place and you can finish the game with the big and inevitable bang well before getting more than half the bang for your buck.

How? My first run on the 26th-27th of last Jan I only lost Miranda and that was by accident.

Skipping loyalty missions = frequent death.

@Darth Silver: Good! And play through it quickly enough that you don't hear spoilers everywhere!

Funny thing is, i thrive on spoilers. To hear about them is one thing, but to play through and see it yourself is just so much better.
I am actually surprised the spoilers havent made me rush through the game. Just Loyalty seem very important and nice side story too. Also i actually started over midway in my last file, which is why i am not done by now lol.

Saving most of the side quest for after SM since i heard you can still play after. But i already did Lair of the ShadowBroker lol. I cant cheat on Liara now :D

Pffffftt, I SCOFF at your 7 deaths. On my last playthrough I made it a point to have all but TWO of my squad members dead (ten deaths total). LOL. You should try it, it's loads of fun.

I could see how someone who doesn't play a lot of RPGs, especially Bioware RPGs could lose that many people due to missing upgrades and loyalty missions. The trick is to recognize the point of no return when it presents itself. The first two times TIM contacts you with an urgent mission, you have no choice but to go do it. The third time, to get the IFF it's only presented as an option. That was a huge red flag for me that it was a major turning point of the game, and that I should complete everything I possibly can before beginning that mission.

After you play enough Bioware games you just develop a sixth sense for these things and can recognize them with a high degree of accuracy.

I would rather loose 7 people the hard way, than figure out what steps I had to take to ensure their survival as well as loyalty through metagaming, especially with the first play through.  It takes the fun out of it in that regard, I think.

I didn't lose a single teammate the first time... I'm genuinely surprised that anyone is given any trouble with the suicide mission. The game practically tells you what to do, and walks you through, holding your hand. The only time I was nervous was the first time. Don't understand how you can lose a squadmate... -shakes head- It's so darn easy!

My first time, I believe I lost Tali (face-missile), and Thane (bled-out by being team leader).

Same, I'm not even sure how it's possible to lose 7 without trying.

On first I only lost Mordin (hold the line).

Same, stupid door score, it doesn't make sense that if you send him as an escort him and all the crew lives, I sent Grunt back with the crew, it just made more sense.

I lost 2 the first time: Tali and Samara. The reason: chose Samara as team leader twice. I did everything else fine, but... yeah... I felt so bad for killing those two. My femShep was good friends with both. My second playthrough I lost just Zaeed because he wasn't loyal and I sent him to escort the crew. Whoops... I thought if Mordin could handle it, he could.

I lost 4 or 5 on my first playthrough. I lost Legion because I missed one ship upgrade. Then Tali since she wasn't loyal to me. Then Jack and Miranda. Also the crew since I put the mission first.

Having perfect playthroughs is for wusses. I've only done once the everyone lives ending just for the achievement and will never do it again nor use it in ME3. It kills the entire point of having a so called "Suicide Mission" if everyone makes it.

I wish something like that had happened to me the first time. Everyone survived for me, because I'm an obsessive completionist and I just make logical choices for the roles at the end.

I'm actually trying to engineer it at the moment so that people die :P

It actually took me more tries to see the 'Shepard dies' ending than it took me to get everyone to live.  For me, it was a chore killing off everyone in just the right way.  I would always have two ppl left in the end... To kill everyone, I had to kill people in just the right order... It was hard to do but I finally got the epic fail ending.
