Thats the thing with a demo, especially of an RPG- you're not going to be able to get a good feel for the whole experience in a brief demo. If the demo itself isn't well received, they'd really be shooting themselves in the foot, with over a month left to show off the game, especially when they've hardly shown anything as of yet anyway.

@ Brockololly - Hmm yeah, too true, but they did choose this to be their official demo at all conventions/conferences/etc. so would they change it now? It probably would be safer to just release a character creator.

This is looking relatively legit. Still going to have to try and keep my expectations down to a reasonable level. Bioware is not known for it's demo and even the latest one only came months after ME2 was out. Still fingers crossed for some official word.

I'm not getting my hopes up, as the Epic Community Event and Epic Countdown Clock taught me my lesson in having zero expectations for these sorts of things. ANd having a pre-release demo seems very odd for BioWare games.

And wouldn't it have been outed as going up on Xbox Live already? Don't they show whats coming up for the next month usually a week or so in advance?

Yeah, people can still get on the internet if they're not at the office...but if you worked there, would you really want to spend your day off sitting on the forums? 

All Im trying to say is don't take the lack of a confimation or denial as anything more but than no one happens to be around the forums

Didn't something like this happen before? Oh yeah, EA kind of jumped the gun on the ME3 reveal before the trailer. Poor Bioware. They must feel like when someone comes to their surprise birthday party only to find out that someone already spilled the beans to the person getting surprised.



IF there are plans for a demo, I will be excited out of my mind and completely understand the lack of marketing so far. If not, I'm pretty sure we'll get something cool on Feb 1st anyway.

Actually, the first mail is danish, ^ that one is norwegian, so it would be EA europe, or at least the scandinavian branch. Just waiting for the swedish one now and we'll have a full set.

Why would they release a playable demo over a month away from release totally out of the blue? Especially when they've given us so little gameplay footage up to this point. Wonder if something is getting lost in translation here or is is using some wordplay to play a trick again, maybe they'll be doing a live demo or something. Full playable demo seems a bit odd at this point in time.

Yep just got this in my email from EA Denmark too, it's their official mail so this is the real deal folks, now lets see when it actually releases.

Why would it seem odd? The game is not even 2 months away, on top of that it could be more of a beta test for developers and not so much a demo.

I know they wont release the entire package obviously, but it'd be awesome if they used feedback from this "demo" to actually fix things before shipping the game, so we don't have to wait for a patch.

It does make sense given the fact that their media presence for DA 2 wasn't all that big, a playable demo would really do some good to remedy that.
Especially since demos aren't all that common these days more so for the PC platform.
