I got the email as well. I'll happily forward it to anyone with an email if you don't believe me.

"Dragon Age II
Demo out now.
Pre-order now and get Fadeshear & The Lion Of Orlais"

Awesome if it was Denmark only . That would more than make it up for the bazaar/American favouritism from BW. Anyway from the looks of it we are going to get a demo primo February.

I will gladly repeat myself:

I got this email too from EA Denmark, their official newsletter, this is the real deal. Now if this was meant for this week or later, time will tell us. But the info is most certainly real.

It's not Danish only, and it wouldn't make sense if it was. EA Norway have also been confirmed to send this email to it's subscribers.

Well it's not that bad, all it have done so far is getting their hardcore fans excited. The only problem I can see is if this email was meant for mid-late February and not this week, then it'd be bad.

EA have been doing loads of demos lately.

Both Bulletstorm and Dead Space 2 have received demos, so I wouldn't be surprised if da2 followed suit.

Well the Dead Space 2 armor was advertised on Russian sites a week or two before it was announced elsewhere, so this might be similar.

Though even if the screenshots are 110% legit, it states there's a demo out now, which I think we would have heard about if there was one. So they probably weren't meant to be sent till Tuesday I guess

Yep
just got this in my email from EA Denmark too, it's their official mail
so this is the real deal folks, now lets see when it actually
releases.

Maybe tomorrow? I'mean we've got in Europe ca.
21:20, perhaps this mail was meant to be read tomorrow when the xbox
live-store e.g. has included the demo.... [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/wink.png[/smilie]

Tuesday makes sense? the first of feb, they've been hinting towards that date for a long long time.

No Monday and it would fit the hint from Mike that we possibly could hear lady hawks voice before Feb 1. which is Tuesday!
31th: Demo and after that one month left with previews and tests and piece by piece information to make us go really crazy for this game....

At least the german EA newsletter doesn't mention this, got one today, but nothing about a DA2 demo. But that's typical, isn't it? One hand doesn't know what the other does.. :P

Why would it seem odd? The game is not even 2 months away, on top of that it could be more of a beta test for developers and not so much a demo.

I know they wont release the entire package obviously, but it'd be awesome if they used feedback from this "demo" to actually fix things before shipping the game, so we don't have to wait for a patch.

Exactly what are you going to be able to point out needs fixing in a short little demo that has an incredibly small portion of the game unlocked, assuming of course it's not a totally unique scenario like a lot of demos usually give.

It does make sense given the fact
that their media presence for DA 2 wasn't all that big, a playable demo
would really do some good to remedy that.
Especially since demos aren't all that common these days more so for the PC platform.

Not necessarily, demos can do just a much to hurt the image of a game as it can do to help it. Part of the reason demos have gone out of style or get released a few weeks after launch is because they can have a negtative effect on inital sales. Makes it worse when you go in not really knowing what to expect, people ignorant of a product tend to expect more then they really should, if it fails to meet your expectations it can leave a bad taste in your mouth.

Could be the demo, like I said it just feels really out of place at this point in time. Would have been better a week or two prior to launch after releasing some more varied gameplay videos rather then a month with hardly anything out there.

yeah it'd be nice if we could get an idea what branches of EA slipped here.

So far Denmark and Norway subscribers have gotten this newsletter.

General crashes, mass testing on different PC hardware configurations if this is a PC release also.

I wish bioware would come in and clear this up but they seem to have been less active on the forums lately. I imagine they're just really busy......

True, and all the EA demos as of late have not been available on the PC. Should DA2 have a demo and they don't release it on PC, what a s***storm that will be.

It could be that they simply announce a demo on Tuesday, but not release the actual demo. It would seem a bit odd to me to just secretly release a demo with next to zero fanfare or hype. But then again, thats how they announced DA2 as well, just leaving one tweet the night before and letting Game Informer spill the beans the next day.

But those are the easy things for the QA teams to find, especially those from the big devs like BioWare. The things developers typically rely on the community to track down are things that require various combinations to pop up, bugs and crashes in out of place situations, balance problems throughout the game etc. Demos really don't have a purpose in bug hunting.

Yet, every other EA branch leak has proven true so far. I don't see why this would be any different.
