Does seem odd though that they'd mark out this date damn near a year a in advance, hype everyone up with it, and it turns out to be a demo.

Likely supposed to have been the original release date, but when that got pushed back, they had to come up with something else for that date.

As I said earlier, it was very likely the original planned release date for DA2, it just got knocked back a month however.

Or maybe not.

More like 16 months- and they did say they'd support Origins with 2 years worth of DLC. While the reality was they only gave it less than one year's worth of post release support. ANd considering the card that came with Awakening, its not crazy to think that had something to do with Origins at all.

Because it's obvious to those among us who don't act at being blind that it was originally the release date from DA2 that got repurposed once the game was pushed back to March 8th.

No, I certainly don't always believe dev talk, but that's sort of a blanket assumption and aren't all blanket assumptions also poor assumptions? I take information as it comes and try to keep it in context and evaluate it on its own merit. Regarding the question of DAO content, they said Witch Hunt was the final bit of DLC for Dragon Age and progress was already well under way with DA2 at the time. So I was confident that DAO was in fact no longer in active development cycles. 


I'm not saying like "LOL ur dumn!" or anything, just that I think expecting DAO information was probably wishful thinking.

Well you could argue that Awakening could count as a DLC, since it wasn't an actual sequel.

In my time zone (EST), Tuesday is tomorrow - if that makes you feel any better. But I still think that Feb 1st was just the original release date for DA2 before it got pushed back to March. I'll hope for the demo anyway though.

Eh, I thought about that but I don't fully but it. It's not a long delay so not really sure if it would be due to technical reasons, a month doesn't really buy you a whole lot of development time especially for an AAA title going on a global launch. It doesn't change EA's fiscal quarter so can't be financial. So yeah don't really see what could have caused a short delay for something they must have be fairly confident about, don't know why'd you do that type of promo if you weren't.

I've always thought that (Feb 1 was the original DA2 release day), too, but they've promised us that the date is still significant. Here's hoping!

Uh, just to point out - the DA BioWare team is based in Edmonton Alberta, which is in the PST timezone. If any update is going to happen on the first, it very likely will happen when its the 1st at BioWare.
