I imagine the Bioware mods will have a damage control huddle at work this morning, and then in a few hours from now Stanley Woo or Chris Priestly will have something to say and close the thread. Not maliciously of course, but just an attempt to get this thing under control.

 I suppose it depends on what the actual timeline was. They may not want this thread rampaging the forum for two weeks! Though I suppose it's telling that it was a January newsletter...how often do those things come out, and are they post-dated?

That said, I believe that EA have an obligation to give correct information. If the Banners say (or said) 'Demo out now', clearly that is wrong. REGARDLESS of what happens in the future.

So what is this demo most likely to consist of? Probably the same demo the previewers got to play at E3? Perhaps with updated graphics to reflect the final product?

Or perhaps only a Character Creator?

I have no idea, I was expecting mine since, well yesterday, seeing as my country is the only scandinavian one left out still (sweden)

I think editing the banners was damage control plain and simple, I don't think it's hard proof of anything

Well we know they've had a somewhat functional demo, the one at PAX and E3. My money is on that, IF there actually is a demo release

Probably the same content, just a more recent build (not necessarily the MOST recent build)

The PS3 ME2 demo was actually pretty substantial, it had the character creation (I think? maybe wrong on that) then Lazarus station and Mordin's recruitment, all full missions.

My apologies for interrupting the rampant speculation, but here are a few things to consider:


[*]EA has taken down the wording from their HTML site so it could have been posted in error. Everybody makes mistakes.

[*]That David Gaider has responded to this thread neither confirms or denies the existence of a demo.

[*]It is quite possible that David Gaider wouldn’t know if there was a demo. As the lead writer on DA2 his work was done a while back and he is in all likelihood working on a different project and is not necessarily up to date on marketing’s plans.

[*]BioWare even when they get into work today at 9:00 am Mountain time, tends not to comment on rumors and speculation. So the lack of comments by BioWare neither confirms or denies this rumour.

[*]There very well might be a demo, but to my knowledge BioWare has never released a demo of a game before the game was released on at least one platform

[*]02/01/11 is only one day a way. What, if anything, BioWare has planned will be revealed in a day or so. Relax, and enjoy the ride.
