Ea does lots of demos, so maybe this is one of the EA + Bioware circumstances, where things are actually better now that they are a team.

You gotta love EA's constant srew-ups. The more I read on this thread the more positive I am that there is, in fact, going to be demo of sorts. I mean, if the banner was sent to several people in different languages, and later modified, I think it's safe to say someone screwed up.

And the devs stay silent...

It's very likely that a Demo will be available as announced in that OP's ad. It doesn't look fake and there are threads about it in other gaming forums.



Now, if it will be available for the PC as well it is a whole different story. I would love if it is.

I'm sure that IF a demo is released it will be for all platforms. Bioware does not favour any platforms in preferecne to others (except maybe PC, but not even these days).

EA is huge.  Any organization like that is going to be as well organized as it's most exhausted, overworked tech.  Some dude fell asleep at the wheel is all.  Pisses the suits off, I'm sure, but for us....

The devs posts I have seen seem... grumpy?  They're probably resenting having to spend what should be polish time on damage control.  Guessing of course.

There's blue all over the place this morning...  Any references to the demo are getting locked with "speculate in one place, please" replies.  So there's probably a thread in the mod forums and they're figuring out what's going on.  We'll probably get real word late in the day, which I would bet is the schedule they had planned to use anyways.

Not really, someone just decided to resurrect a bunch of threads that have been in a post-mortem state for about 7 months; he was locking them.

I would hope not, but you never know.  It really just makes more work for the mods and maybe marketing. I don't think any of the development team would have to spend time on this.   The marketing team might be chewing through tables right now.

[*]It is quite possible that David Gaider wouldn’t know if there was a demo. As the lead writer on DA2 his work was done a while back and he is in all likelihood working on a different project and is not necessarily up to date on marketing’s plans.

[*]BioWare even when they get into work today at 9:00 am Mountain time, tends not to comment on rumors and speculation. So the lack of comments by BioWare neither confirms or denies this rumour.

[*]There very well might be a demo, but to my knowledge BioWare has never released a demo of a game before the game was released on at least one platform

[*]02/01/11 is only one day a way. What, if anything, BioWare has planned will be revealed in a day or so. Relax, and enjoy the ride.
