I rather think positive about this. Maybe there's a good chance we will get a demo but it is not "out" yet, so that message EA has send was a mistake and that's why they removed it.

Well, even if we won't get a demo tomorrow, we will probably get something else soon, some new info perhaps, video, etc. it's about time!

Not to turn this into an all out debate but 99% of the time they provide a redirect link when closing a duplicate thread. Woo, Priestly, and Javier always provide one. I think Gaider does too but he doesn't do much thread locking.

2.DA legends open beta 
3. DA2 demo

The big question for me is whether they even knew what they were advertising with the Feb 01 leaflets, or if they just used it to create hype and then decide later what they will do, or was it perhaps the original DA2 release date?
I don't see how they would use it to build up to the release of Legends, seems a bit inappropriate to me.
Whichever angle I look at it, it all comes back to a DA2 DEMO!

While this is true for the most part, it's also incredibly counter-productive, I've seen some real tyranny from forum officials on various gamesites, EA being one of them.

A demo is a pretty big thing though, so it would have had to have been planned in advance, some bioware poster said a few weeks ago on the subject that it requires a separate team to focus specifically on polishing a specific part of the game for marketning. So that's was probably decided very early in development.

It does not matter whether it's a privately owned forum or not, no forum is a democracy, people who believe any forum under the control of others is a place for freedom of speech are clearly dillusional, the owner can allow some leeway, but in the end they have the final say.

i'm being cautiously optimistic on this, if there's nothing tomorrow it's okay i'll just wait for more info later.
if we do get something i'll be happy.

This wasn't a petty noble beating down a pesant uprising asking for more food. They simply locked threads purpousfully bumped from 7 months ago with useless crap just for the sake of. And the other demo thread while older, had been surpassed by this one on every level. Simply keeping discussions to a single topic is not counter productive, it's the total opposite.

I disagree. Look at all the LI speculation that's gone on for pages and pages of hype. They'll let us speculate all they want. Though truth be told, I also hope for a demo.

With the demo, these forums will be filled with major spoilers taken from the .dlg files, just like it was with the Character Creators. So you'll learn all the party members pretty soon (and some other major spoilers too probably)

I doubt they'd put an advert in the box just to reveal a new character...unless the date was for something else and it's not ready...so they thought 'any update is better than none' since they've revealed some characters already. Same for a dev diary tbh, the fact that Feb 1st had an advert makes me think it's something much bigger.

You're kidding, right?
They actually run their coffee makers on our tears of anguish and disappointment -- and BioWare drinks a lot of coffee.


There is a high probability of something happening tomorrow considering the whole Awakening flyer -- however, that this isn't locked should be construed in no way shape or form that what is being speculated is remotely accurate.
