First, this question would be concerning the Console (Xbox360) version of the game.....

I was just reading over at the DA wikia about combat mechanics and found this:

"OnHitDmg
When a weapon hits, a number of OnHit properties can be triggered: Damage from Runes, Damage from Enchantment Spells (Flaming Weapons, Frost Weapons) and Poisons.
These OnHit properties are not triggered when activated talents are
used.
As of Patch 1.04, when a Dual-Wielder back-stabs, Runes and other
OnHit properties for the off-hand weapon are properly registering for
each off-hand strike and the main-hand OnHit properties are no longer
triggered for hits from both weapons."

So.....does
this indicate that if a Mage / Warrior / Rogue is running any
"sustained"  talents, all Runes / Spell Enchant DMG and Poisons are
nullified?Also.....is it correct to assume that any "built in"
enchantments on a weapon will function as normal alongside sustained
talents?

im pretty sure that enchantments are always on the weapon. i constantly run sustained abilities, often having as much as ten on one person at a time, and it still registers the damage from the runes and built in enchantments.

if you want to experiment you can turn on, i think its the, floating numbers and it will tell you exactly how many points you're getting from the different enchantments.
