Saw it a few hours ago, it's a good thing I have a little faith in Bioware to deliver, that video might well have put me off, I know they increased combat speed, but I could not help thinking about the keystone cops, especially when Varric was running.

I want to see more class combat, like Mage, and Warrior class advances.

But I like how the rogue moves more fluid, and agile.

Thanks for the link OP. Yikes...the rogue animations make me cringe. It looks like they were pulled out of a figure skating game with Hawke flipping around like that. I wonder if the character gets extra experience points for sticking the landings?

The rain of arrows looks almost exactly like the hunter Volley ability in World of Warcraft. While it looks cool in WoW with it's over-the-top feel permeating the entire game...it just doesn't fit in DA 2. DA is supposed to be dark and have a gritty, realisitic look and feel. Now we have characters backflipping and tossing smoke bomb and a dwarf with a crossbow who can instanly fire a hundred arrows into the air to stab into the ground. Where does Varric keep all those bolts and how fast can he load them into his goofy little crossbow? Does it fire a hundred arrows all at once?

Sure, all video games must suspend some degree of disbelief to make play mechanics work. Ammunition for bows, crossbows or any weapon requires this because of various play mechanic issues. Carrying around stacks of 99 arrows would make most people fall over, but since bows do fairly weak damage and you can't retrieve the fired arrows after combat, you have to have tons of arrows. That's understandible. But having a skill where a single character fires tons of bolts or arrows instantly into the sky to blanket the ground just looks rediculous.

Why do people think this is going to be "fixed"? It was released about a month ago, as a combat walkthrough, by BIoware, with explanation and narration by Lead Designer Mike Laidlaw.

I'd say that's the finished product. There's no "fix" coming.

I like the look of the new combat--it's different and faster paced. I agree w/ TJ--doesn't need to be "fixed".

lol - I appreciate you agreeing with me, but I was just pointing out that it wasn't going to be fixed.

Personally, I see that rogue jumping around like some kind of circus performer and cringe.

The descriptions for Rogue Hawke's antics are always great- some say he's in Cirque du Soleil and others say he's an ice skater doing a  triple lutz.

He looks like anything but a rogue/assassin/archer.

Yeah, it's not broken and therefore won't be fixed. If that's what you're expecting, prepare for disappointment.

Ah, this video. I like the part where playing tactically really proved to be no better than the face rolling action gameplay; it just took longer. Though, that's not very different than playing Origins even on Nightmare.

sigh..... just horrific but i already saw that...the anims skip frame to frame they seems broken the teleport effect in some moves are just silly and ridicolus.. and what about that shiny trails of the blades.... oh yes and don't forget the varric arrow minigun :pewpewpewpew 100 a rain fall from the sky...

How to turn a dark roleplay and nearly adult game in a teenager bloodfest with japanese animation style...

Epic fail....

For me dragon age loose his how identity... Thanks bioware to turn a true original game with his own identity in a sign of global mediocrity

What?

Seriously, "japanese animation style?' That a stupid way, to simply say Anime (The west perfer the term "Cartoons").

Also, the correct term is: "Over the top."

Ah well. ;) Guess you'll be rolling a warrior or mage then? :P
