I would make my character romance Zaeed, but unfortunately there's no option for that.

That would be interesting. Now if Zaeed gets Jessie fixed, gets a dialogue wheel AND becomes a love interest - well, I guess Azure´s gonna be booked for a month. Reapers would have to patiently wait=]
On topic - for the first run of the both games, Kaidan. Had never played such games before, so it was a genuine surprise when he started batting his eyelashes and smooth-talking.
Then shameless screwing around, taking advantage of the plentiful fanservice. Loved it. Never knew I had a weakness for shot-up turians. Or dying assassins who slip into the twilight zone over the morning coffe.
Good thing there are enough fresh Shepards to go around.

ME 1 Ashley Tough, opinionated, fiercely protective, sense of humor. What's not to like?

Me 2 stayed with Ashley

Just because Bioware abandoned Ash doesn't mean I will.

I have created tons of FemSheps and all have romanced Liara in ME1 and ME2. I find she's the best romance by far and clearly the best partner for them.

Oh, why?

She has the qualities I find very attractive in a woman, mainly, intelligence and strength of character.  She's calm and mature but also capable of showing streaks of passion and even childlike wonder over things she loves the most (her studies regarding the Protheans being one).  She's loyal, compassionate, but I also like that she's practical and willing to get her hands dirty if needed in order to accomplish something for the greater good.

I could go on and on so I will stop.

Canon paragade Shep:

ME1: Liara

Sort of ended up with her by default, though I like the character. I didn't know who I wanted my Shep to go for, so he was flirting with both Ashley and Liara, and I was hoping to put off the decision until near the end of the game. Unfortunately if ask Liara about Asari reproduction, for whatever reason that kills the Ashley romance. So I never got the confortation where you are forced to choose between them, and instead Liara just showed up in Shep's quarters before Ilos.

ME2: Miranda

I don't think Shep romancing someone new in ME2 is 'cheating,' since he was dead for two years and regardless of whether you romanced Liara or Ashley, your ME1 romance doesn't seem interested in picking up where you left off. So in ME2 I went with Miranda. I liked that Miranda doesn't idolize Shepard like some of the other LIs do. (ME1 Liara, ME1 and ME2 Ashley before she finds out you are with Cerberus, and ME2 Tali) She admires and respects him but doesn't kneel at the altar of Shepard. It was refreshing to have an LI that doesn't fall into hero worship. Also, she's hot. Image IPB

Not that Liara ian't also hot of course, but she wasn't an option in the main game prior to LotSB's release.

Like Miranda Jack also doesn't worship Shep, in fact she's often fairly standoffish with him. But she's also bald, covered in tattoos, and has serious anger issues. My Shep declinded the casual sex, and went the friend route instead of pursuing a relationship.

LotSB: Went back to Liara.

With LotSB Liara has the best written romance in the game by far, and Miranda may not play a large role in the final chapter. She might be ME3's equivalent of Wrex or Ashley. Liara is guaranteed to play a large role even if she isn't on the squad.

I played a male Shep and didn't romance anyone in either game because Kaidan wasn't an option.

I played a female Shep and romanced Kaidan in ME1 and stayed loyal in ME2 because Kaidan is hot.

I played a male Shep and romanced Liara in ME1 because I wanted to see how it would affect LotSB.

Just to see what they were like, I romanced Miranda and Jack in ME2. They were both ok. I tried out the Jacob romance with my femShep, but felt dirty afterwards because of Jennifer Hale's cringe worthy seductress voice.

Jennifer Hale's voice made you feel dirty, but not FemShep being 'the Priiiize?' The most cringe worthy part of that romance is the fact that it involves Jacob. Image IPB

over multiple Shepard's - everyone but Thane (although Ashley romance didn't come to fruition, since she died on Virmire in order to make that Shepard as unlucky in love as possible - same with Jack, Tali and Kelly in ME2 with that same character). Thane is a wonderful character, but he's just too tragic and still in love with his dead wife. Tali would have been skipped (I honestly see her more as a beloved sister), but as its impossible to romance and then kill off Miranda, Tali was sacrificed.

I have three Shepards.

Rhianna Shepard stays loyal to Kaidan.
Sara Shepard romanced no one in ME1, but romanced Garrus in ME2.
Nadia Shepard romanced no one in ME1, but romanced Thane in ME2

I play Rhi the most in ME1 and I have a tendancy to play Sara the most in ME2, which is not surprising considering Garrus is my favorite character and, IMHO, Garrus' romance is the most fun in ME2. I like Thane's but it's a little too depressing. Makes me sad. Image IPB

ME1: Ashley - she came onto me. I was pissed at her because of her killing Wrex but I thought, hey why not. Wish I knew I could with Liara

ME2: Tali - Wanted to with Miranda, I liked her personality from the beginning. However, it just didn't happen and Tali came onto me after she survived the suicide mission, so I said hey why not. Then when the DLC for Liara came out I dumped Tali to see if I had a chance to form something in the DLC. Didn't so now im alone.

I have 16 complete playthrough, so only significant ones:

Alyson (main), Emma (crazy) and Mona (full paragon) - Kaidan in ME1, photo frame in ME2. Kaidan has views on life very similar to mine and most of Shepards', and I don't want to "cheat" by femShep.

John (loser) - Ashley in ME1 (Virmired), Jack and Tali in ME2 (SM'ed). Wanted to see tragic response, haven't noticed anything like this yet.

Mark (main mShep) - Consort, Liara, something strange with Kelly, Tali, again Liara, back to Tali... It continues. Sums up my view on typical video game hero.

Max (duty first), Ingrid (sceptic) and Ashley (full Renegade) - free. Max and Ashley aren't interested, Ingrid is waiting for possibilities in ME3.

I'd be Jacob's Priiiize any day. He's hot. But yeah, FemShep's "flirty" voice was very off putting.

Canon Shep: nobody. My Shepard is professional, and intimate relationships can cloud judgement at critical moments when lives are at stake.

I've romanced all the characters with various Sheps just to see how the stories play out though.

FemShep 1 Paragon : Liara in both games.

MaleShep 1 Renegade : Liara and then Tali (couldn't wait forever for Liara and thought Tali was sweet)

MaleShep 2 In progress : Ashley (and I plan on Miranda in ME2, I see this one as a Cerberus Sleeper Agent.) Will probably be the only one who doesn't romance Liara.

I see Liara as Shep's true love. She waited for him/her. She gave his/her body to Cerberus in the faint hope to have them come back alive to her.

She's Shepard's fated love. I you want to be poetic.

My maleShep I went for Liara and then Tali.

Why Tali?, because it was among the women of ME1 that reacted surprised and happy to see Sheppard alive. Liara and Ashley was a bit cold manifesting Sheppard being alive.

Neither Liara nor Ashley really interested me in ME1.

I chose Miranda in ME2, but I really wish I could've romanced Samara.

I wouldn't say Tali acted surprised and happy. In fact, most of the reunions were lackluster save for Wrex's. He was about the only one that was glad to see Shepard back. The rest kind of just gawked at him and asked if that was really him.

In ME1 -- I romanced Liara.
In ME2 -- I romanced Miranda but when LotSB came out I romanced Liara again. And right now I’m having some difficulty deciding which romance to keep for ME3. Should my Shepard be with Liara or with Miranda, or maybe I should just break up with them both and import my Shepard as single? I think I’ll just make 3 playthroughs and import them all.

First run: nobody/Garrus. Went all squealy fangirl and couldn't help myself. Thought he and Ellen made a good couple.

Second run: Ashley/Miranda. Dick Shepard likes brunettes.

Third run: Liara/Liara. I downloaded Shadow Broker and was all LIKE WHOA I AM 'MANCING THIS NOW.

ME1: Ashely
ME2: Stayed loyal to Ashely
ME3: Will continue dating Ashely.
Ashely was a good character with some good backround details. See is better than Miranda in my book.
