[Lone Spirit]

What I'm trying to make is a melee damage dealing powerhouse.  I've always enjoyed the typr of charecter that sacrifices some defense for utility and huge damaging hits.  So far, dual-weilding Rouge, or Arcane Warrior Mage look the best to me. 

I tried the rouge, and made it to the town after the Human origin story, but got masacared in the forrest with my 3-person party.  It always fely like I hit like a wet noodle, and got destroyed by most mobs.  Part of the problem may have been that I was unable to find any weapons and little armor that's better than my starting gear.  Can I REALLY only use daggers with a DW Rouge?  Did I miss the upgrades?

The mage fared better to star with.  I found many upgrades in the starting area, but I'm now level 9 in the town being besiged by undead, and I still can't find that stupid specialization.

So are either of these two builds what I'm looking for? Does either have significant advantages or disadvantages?  I'm playing on normal difficulty, and I'm moderately experienced with RPG's.
