Merrill.

I would have said Aveline, but since we'll be meeting her during the prologue regardless, I thought a companion that comes a little later would be more appropriate.

I'm interested in finding out what the story with the Dalish is, especially since Merrill's was a clan from one of the origins of DA... pluuus I really wanna see and hear that cuteness in the flesh, so to speak.

...Wait I have to pick one? Well I voted for Varric because to do otherwise would be unthinkable at this point. I'm going to struggle to pick which of the above misses out on the 'main' party for playthrough #1 though, presuming Anders is in of course (which is by no means certain).

This is difficult to choose. But it's mainly a toss up between Fenris and Varric, assuming we're only talking about DA2 characters.



Varric cuz he just looks/seems funny.



And Fenris cuz everything I've read about him thus far seems awesome. And I've always held a deep love for elves x]

Dalish Keepers  use Bloodmagic or at least have a more liberal outlook for it, see Zathrian, and Light of Arlathan.

I wouldn't call Zathrian's curse an example of what Keepers are supposed to do -- and he hides the truth of it from his own people.

And, I haven't played Witch Hunt yet, but aren't the Lights of Arlathan artifacts of elven culture from well before the Dalish were the Dalish?

Well regarding light of arlathan we dont really know what it is exactly but in WitchHunt it functions like some sort of a magical guiding light beacon. However it will only reveal it self to those who decended from Arlathan bloodlines. A few drop of dalish blood is required for it to reveal it self. That sounds like some sort blood magic to me.

Besides the Dalish does not  practice chantry's outlook on magic so their view on Blood Magic might be different than that of the chantry's.

Then again we know only so little about her, for all we know the blood magic she uses might not be the same as the blood magic in DA:O.

I picked Sebastian. Mostly I just hope you can romance him, because I'm not at all interested in Captain Chest Hair or Mr. Super Mysterious Elf Man. Plus, the Scottish accent. Mmmm.



Second would be Carver. Then probably Aveline and the mystery mage.

I do really want to know more about Mystery Mage, and I do really really hope it's Anders. But since I don't know anything about him atm, I'm voting Carver since he's Hawke's brother and I'm interested in how BioWare will handle the sibling dynamic. Plus adorkable derp face.
