Anyways I voted Varric because I've been obsessed with his chest hair since the original concept art

I've been wondering the exact same thing myself, I'm pretty shocked he's the favorite so far. Personally he sounds like a cliche to me, the living weapon with amnesia and dripping mysteriousness all over the place? My first instinct is 'pass'. It was the same problem I had with Thane, I thought he was trying way too hard to be 'cool'. But different strokes for different folks, I guess.Oblivious wrote...
Can anybody tell me the fascination with Fenris? I have studied extensive amounts of Norse myth (lol my German Shepard/Gray Wolf hybrid in real life is name Fenrir) but why is everyone obsessing over him? I don't know, I guess it's because Zevran (hedonist) and the City Elves (submissive) ruined elves for me but aside from his name and appearance there really isn't anything "unique" about him.

I loved the elves in DA:O and I first played as a Dalish, yet the two elves in DA2 are the least interesting to me so far. I'm hoping that I grow to love them in spite of my current reservations; I've learned that I should keep an open mind. I remember complaining to a friend about Jack for weeks after her reveal, about how she was such a bada** chick stereotype... She's one of my favorite Mass Effect characters now, I'm glad I was wrong about her.
But as it stands now, Aveline and Sebastian are doing a way better job of piquing my interest.

Yeah it's that same old tired "escaped slave who was subjected to experiments by Tevinter magisters, turning him into a living weapon, transforming his skin, and robbing him of his memories" cliché. BioWare really needs to stop recycling that old standby.Oblivious wrote...

Edit: I didn't think I needed a sarcasm disclaimer, but after Aris' post, maybe I do...

Escaped slave? Done. Escaped test subject? Done. Amnesiac "Living weapon"? One of the biggest cliche's ever. Compared to a female knight, a pirate "queen", a priestly prince who goes on a tale of vengeance, and a dwarf hedonist with a spy network Fenris seems like the most boring character after Merrill right now. To each their own I guess, just wish that my question would warrant an answer instead of sarcastic comments:unsure:SirOccam wrote...

Why are people thinking the male mage is Anders rather than Finn? I thought Finn was hinted as a returner a few months back.

Is this seriously Fenris' backstory? And he's a warrior too? Jeez, let's just hope he doesn't have a healing factor...SirOccam wrote...

Notice to all people who are responding like this to Fenris: If you can't like a character because he/she/it is "cliche`" then stop playing video games, reading books, and watching movies. Because everything has been done already. You will never enjoy anything and just ****** off the rest of us who actually realize this. <_<

I voted for Fenris. Has nothing to do with Norse myth, even though that's a hobby interest of mine as well. It's because he's a Gaider elf, primarily. I can't not fall for a Gaider character. It's like some kind of law. I also like the stoic types.Oblivious wrote...

According to one interview, she is constantly telling the party dirty jokes. She's shaping up to be a female version of Quagmire.Vanni127 wrote...
Wow, not a lot of people are excited about Isabella. Now, I know she's the 'easy' LI according some...but I liked her character in origins. What little we saw of it. I'm interested in learning more about her and why she is who she is.
The LI part of it is just icing on the cake for me.
