I have the new Ultimate Edition, I say new, it seems EA have just packaged Origins with Awakenings, did they actually try to load these on W764?

DA installer would not work failed during installation. I copied Origins to hard drive and used Winrar to unpack everything in the data folder. Autorun now lets me play, looking fine.

I log into the website and use my redeemable code, works fine. But I cannot upload that content in game, I can login but the Downloadable section shows nothing to download. Any ideas guys?

Then we come to the Awakening DvD. I am no computer expert, I am assuming it won’t autorun and install because it was meant to piggy back being ‘disk 2’ effectively after Origins, but maybe not? How am I meant to install Awakening? I could unpack everything in the Awakening data folder to the DA folder on my hard drive writing over any duplicate files. But not sure if that’s the best option. Any ides?

Thank you for your help in advance.

First off, would like to say I haven't tried it personally, but I know you can download the game and use it without discs once your product has been registered using the EA downloader. This may work better. Unfortunately it's a very hefty download.

As for DLC you may want to check out http://social.biowar.../58/index/81613.
I know on Windows7 64bit I need to restart the "Dragon Age Origins - Content Updater" service on occasion.

Thanks for replying, didn't realise that was a option. I won’t try to download just yet as it would be a mammoth download. I have found my additional content on this website now; it looks like I download them separately as files to my PC. I assume once run these files will know where to install themselves. As I have not installed in the normal location this may cause issues, so not doing that as yet.

I will give the DLC a go first if I that goes fine I will then download the additional files from this website.

Ultimate edition is just that... everything should be contained on those discs.  There is nothing to download-- if it is successfully installed, your computer will need to connect to the internet and authorize the content, which is different.

I strongly suggest you contact EA Games directly and get the installer to work.  support.ea.com or help.dragonage.com.

DLC did not work, tried loads of ideas from the tech f.a.q.

This sorted it out: DAUServiceDiagnostic_beta.exe. At least all my addins are up and running. Looking at The Awakening to see if that is OK now. What should I see when I load up that says Awkening has loaded fine?

No, the game has not been made compatible with Windows 7 64 bit. It is just the original, uncompatible versions from release packaged together.

You'd have thought they'd fix that, but apparently the new game is too important to bother fixing the last one. They already have our money. Next.

Well I found Awakening in downloadable and in other campaigns so all is well for now. As you say this is a case of take the money and run. But then EA had a reputation of doing that already, now in my eyes Bioware does as well.

Needless to say I am not going to be rushing out to get DA2.

I've been running into the same problem on my Win 7 64bit laptop, but after I downloaded and installed the Dragon Age Character Creator (and created a character in it, probably a moot step), THEN attempted the game installation again, it worked.

Don't know why it worked, but I do know that I tried 10+ times trying to install the game before this.
