And, if you are, what are your reasons for doing so...............
We know that for those who don't import a save file, DA2 will give us 3 backstories to choose from:
"Hero of Ferelden" (Default): Ended Fifth Blight by killing Archdemon and survived. Placed Alistair on the throne.
"The Martyr": Young Dalish Elf who died to kill the Archdemon. She left the kingdom ruled by Alistair and Anora.
"No Compromise": Dwarven noble took command of Grey Wardens. Exiled Alistair, sent Loghain to his death against Archdemon, and left Anora as Ferelden’s ruler.
I've decided to replay DA2, following the Martyr storyline. So, I'm playing as a female Dalish warrior. She will fall in love with Alistair. But, as dictated by the storyline, she will let Alistair and Anora rule the kingdom. And, of course, she will make the ultimate sacrifice to kill the Archdemon.
Initially, I was going to stop playing DAO and just focus on DA2, since I would have to play as Hawke and not my Warden. Plus, I like the revamped combat mechanics in DA2. Since I never actually could finish DAO, I had no save to import and I was just going to use one of the 3 backstories.......
However, once I found out about the 3 storyline options, and that Merrill is a companion, I started thinking that it might be fun to recreate those storylines with my own playthrough and then import that save to DA2.
I chose the Martyr storyline because, 1. Merrill is a companion in DA2 and she might have some more things to say if the Warden was one of her clansmen. Plus, the Dalish origin is one that I never gave much interest to, so this would give me the chance to play that origin.
And 2. because I wanted the Warden to be out of the picture so Hawke can have all the attention.
Anyone else doing ( or planning on doing ) something similar??
