Hello. I just had a some questions. I'm playing baldurs gate trilogy and I was wondering what happens if I don't pick up certain characters such as jaheira, minsc, or viconia, or edwin, etc. Will this affect what happens when I transition from BG1 to BG2 in the trilogy or will the game assume that they were in my party? Also I want to try to play a game where I try to maximize the npcs interaction (I have the BG1 NPC project) and I want to know what would be the best way to go about getting all the npcs in my party at one point, not just join up and then kick them out, but actually run through the game for example like I would wait until cloakwood before I filled my party with faldorn, eldoth, coran, and yeslick. I was wondering what would be the best order to acquire each NPC and what would the best way to go about it.
Trying to get all the npcs

If you never met them in the BG1 part of BGT, you'll meet the standard versions of them in BG2.
If you take them all into your group at some point in BG1, you may run into the problem that they will start BG2 in the same state as you left them in BG1, so they'll likely be a bit low on XP, making for a somewhat more difficult chapter 2.

Unused BGT NPC's will still be available in BG2 but anybody who is chunked won't appear. I think the likes of Xzar and Coran turn up regardless.
if you tome-up NPC's they also keep these stats, so Imoen or Edwin can benefit from increased intelligence while Jaheira or Viconia could increase their wisdom etc.
