Hey.

Im enjoying DA a lot like most of you who read it. But i find myself in situation when i have time to play that sometimes i would rather play something with people instead of sinking into DA's world. Maybe its just becouse i have played mmorpgs a lot last years, or maybe becouse singleplayer age have gone long time ago...

What are your feelings?

Dont you think that such a wonderfull game world, the engine and stuff could use some breath of multiplayer?
Every time i sink into DA i feel like isolating myself form the world :) and meeting new real people trough the game is something that gives you the feeling you are not THAT isolated. :)

I believe they will add the multiplayer content soon. Some kind of survival missions, random generated dungeons and stuff like that for the characters you leveled trough single player.... Well, there are counltess possibilities - especially if they would add such mp content trough those buy'able content to download.

If anyone would find some info about Bioware plans with DA on the multiplayer/singleplayer only matter then let me know please :)

regards

No Bioware stated they do not plan to make this a Multiplayer as they would have to overhaul the entire game.

The last thing this game needs is a collection of Mini WoW's appearing with everyone playing as Arcane Warrior.

There aren't any plans for Multiplayer. The engine doesn't support it.

I'm 50 hours in, not even done, and know I left out a lot during this play through just because of my choices. A second go around with another character and a different origin to use the companions I haven't before and choose the choices I didn't this time...

That's probably 100+ hours for $50. I'm satisfied.

I think it would be nice if the engine supported MP for user made campaigns. As far as making the official campaign multiplayer, I'd rather they invest their time with more quests, more voice acting, etc.

I see where he is coming from though. It's such a wonderous world, it's a shame I can't explore a bit of it with a friend.

I really hate multiplayer games. I play RPGs for single player story. If I wanted to play an MMO, I would play one. I don't want to. If I wanted to play a deep story oriented RPG with multiple players, I would do so using a pencil and paper game, with other players who are actually intrested in the storytelling/role-playing aspects of the game. I do do so. I am not at all interested in seeing an online element to any RPG I like (be it an Elder Scrolls game, Fallout, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, or whatever).

hehe, whle i understund this is your answer for 90% of people threads you seem to lack some knowledge about important difference between regular multiplayer experience and massive multiplayer experience... Educate yourself a bit, there is huge amount of mutliplayer titles that are not "WoW". How old are you? :)

Anyway im done talking with you :) But i will gladly discuss with others yet.

Well noone would force you to play the game with yoru friends where everyone would controll 1 or 2 characters in the team while playing the single player content. I would definitely would like to play it with friend(s).

Huh. I suppose a NWN style multiplayer component might be fun, actually, after reading muniekk85's post. For some reason, I also was only thinking of multiplayer as "massive multiplayer."

Quite older then most WoW players I would assume. As to replying to your post, WoW is the only popular fantasy multiplayer (both massively and "regular") game I know of.

I wouldn't mind multiplayer in the way that BG2 did it. One leader, max of 6 (or in DAs case, 4) players.

I sense ignorance. Ignorance expressed in so shameless way... :)

multiplayer would probably end up as a 'cash shop to be good' fest with lots of kids breaking the immersion (or worse). despite of our dreams it would just not be the same.

I don't miss other players in a well-crafted single player game. Especially not nowadays considering how most players in multiplayer games are completely retarded ****s who do nothing but waste your time and prevent you from accomplishing anything.

Multiplayer would be fine, but I'd hate to see Bioware turn this great game into another MMO.

not neccesarily. There could be just a ground for people that would like to play together... Not random people you meet. But i.e. your friends who are also playing DA:O... Like some exclusive content for multiplayer where your main heroes form a team of 4 and go into dungeon or defend against the waves of enemies. It wouldnt need game engine overhaul, just a bit of additional programming which would not be done for free... I know me, andmy frioends would gladly pay for such DLC which would allow us to interact and cooperate.

edit:
and dont missunderstund it... multiplayer doesnt have to mean PvP... For such great rpgs its just perfect to have co-op mode.

This thread is filled with people whom has never played Neverwinter Nights, apparently.

I think Dragon Age and it's worldbuilder would make an excellent tool for creating persistant worlds online. Roleplaying, socialising, or simply hack and slashing.

Certainly something to hope they will include in the next game, if there is any!

I'd prefer sitting around a table with some snacks actually playing AD&D with friends to the half-assed experience of NWN.

some people also preffer going out and play football. They point is noone woudl force you to play multiplayer. The point of this thread is to show possibilities and indicate some demand. Hopefully Bioware will see (not just from this thread - if they will ever have a look on it) that there s a demand and they can bring the supply and earn money, and everyone will be happy. :)

If it's multiplayer then there would be mages everywhere doing a lot of damage before a warrior or rogue could touch them, and plus the hell they can heal themselves. And look at the gameplay, the pausing stuff? I'm pretty sure that stuff isn't going to be input into Multiplayer (which is a big part of this game).

Making Dragon Age a multiplayer game would first, unbalance the game even more, and just make another WoW. (Sorry to relate it to WoW though.)
