The biggest things that bother me about this are:



1. The sword and sheild don't belong on it. They were for the preorder bonus. It almost seems like a photoshop and lie.

2. It doesn't make much sense for a demo to be released over a month before the game comes out. It can't be a beta, because there wouldn;t be enough time to take in the feedback and correct everyhting. I think the games still has some kinks to work out as well.



Here's hoping for at least a charachter creator

Oh god. It finally happened.

Once upon a time (a few months ago) during a particularly epic debate about how Dragon Age 2 was like Mass Effect and several other games, someone (Dave of Canada maybe?) dared the thread to some how compare DA2 to sly cooper.

I tried and failed but finally someone managed to do it. I am in awe.

And back on topic.

I will be too and I agree about the precedent.
I don't know what to hedge my bets on in terms of likliness though. The behind-the-scenes stuff has been pretty intent on showing off the new combat. And if I recall correctly (I may not?) the combat was one of the universal complaints about origins.
Buuuut, if we look at the social network as a sample of the audience then a CB would help dispell the "we're losing all the customization" rumors.

Of course ideally we'll get a usable character creator and a playable level so that's where I'll put my bet. I bet on happiness!

It was 100% NOT a photoshop, saw the link to EA servers myself last night. The banner basically said 'preorder now and recieve these bonuses' as well as 'demo available now'.

P.S. please forgive my horrible translation of danish / finnish / norwegian. I THINK I am correct in the translation, though I could be mistaken.

2. Off the top of my head, the ME2 demo for the PS3 was released about a month in advance.

Yeah it is, beyond the shadow of a doubt, not a lie.

It still could be a mistake, but I seriously doubt it when the newsletter and pictures are paired with all the circumstantial evidence.

I just wanted to chip in, saying I'm eagerly hoping there will be a demo, and that if there is one, I want it to be an actual demo. Because I'm eager to try out the new dialogue wheel and system, and the combat, ect. ect.

If there is going to be one, I really can't wait. I pre-ordered the game when they were still having the free upgrade to the Signature Edition, and from what I've seen of it so far, it looks like it's going to be an incredible game.

Thank you! I'm glad we are on the same page, because I personally think this is going to be one of BioWare's greatest game so far. Their hard work has payed off phenomenally. Also, if you didn't notice my correction, instead of "I've been reading since the last post" I meant "I've been reading since the last thread, the one that got closed down."

And on that note I remember that after the bulletstorm demo came out preorders rose greatly, so their aim might be the same outcome.

Thank you! I'm glad we are on the same page, because I personally think this is going to be BioWare's greatest game so far. Their hard work has payed off phenomenally.

Yes, The last thread was epic. My soul hurt when it got closed down, but this one can be just as good. As long as we stay mostly on-topic I doubt they will close it down again. The last thread did get a little bit silly towards the end, but I think we can make it to 100 posts again in support of a DA2 demo of some kind, be it CC or a true gameplay demo.

ETA: It is important to mention that they have still not denied that a DA2 demo exists, and that is important. Given Gaider's proclivity for making fangirls cry, had there been no demo in sight he certainly should have said so when he told us to stay on topic last night. However, all he said was to stop with the spam, which I see as a very good sign.

Exhibit A: character updates and screenshots will be down tonight for "maintenance." If we get something tomorrow, I suspect it will include a character creator.

Here's hoping we get the escape from Lothering, too. I'd really like to see gameplay, *and hear FemHawke's voice*, and the intro section shouldn't be too spoilerific. Length? 30 minutes-ish, depending on dialogues and such.
