I think it boils down to that people had a lot of faith that Bioware would pull out something really great for today. When the demo rumors got out so close to the release date our, somewhat misplaced faith, helped us draw the not totally unreasonable conclusion that Bioware had managed to pull off something  awesome (possibly by pressing buttons)

I've defended the Facebook game elsewhere. It is a decent time waster that has potential but I seriously doubt the majority would've have preferred it entering closed beta to a demo. Not that we ever had a choice in the matter.

Today is a big disappointment for a lot of people who hoped that Bioware would release something related to DA2 and it would be awesome.

Now I'm disappointed that my initial response to the announcement wasn't "this is the new ****, stand up and admit it".

I agree with this, but it wouldn't have hurt to at least let people know if the banner was an error or at least fill us in.

It tickles me that people have the nerve to think that they are entitled to an apology from Bioware because of something so trivial.

This is some major crap! WTF! A facebook game that I've already played!? I don't think this date should have been put into DO:A. Is it really that big of an announcement? I feel betrayed. I'm so disapointed Bioware.

They disappointed for sure with the Awakening card.

A picture of a dragon with a date on it.  That disappoints you?  It was a vague hint.

One would assume it was hinting toward something significant. Or at least pleasing. Why else package it with the game?

A card like that sets up big expectations, but apparently you don't get that and act like we had no reason to believe something decent was going to happen today.

It's not the end of the world, though. The game releases in a month.

Well it might not have came out today, but it doesn't mean that a demo won't come out later this week or if at all.

If there really isn't a demo then we can all look forward to playing the whole game 39 days from now. . . .

While I agree that people are overreacting, I think that an apology would be appropriate.  Bioware hinted that something big was going to happen today more than once.  And in the end, they just announced old news.  So yeah, I think that there was enough of a genuine letdown to merit an apology for that.

But then, I'm an apologetic person.

Lets be perfectly fair that was an obvious screwup, even if a demo had been released today.

They said they had a few tricks up their sleeves for today but all we got was an announcement of a flash game beta going into more beta and ME2 getting an alternate appearance pack next week.
