if you are waiting for an apology, it might take a little while longer. and you will still be disappointed after since it will feel insincere (thats how it was last time). but honestly i don't think an apology is needed for this. they just need to say SOMETHING

Dragon Age 2 is NOT released in August. There is a supercool trailer
coming in August, but DA2 will NOT be out in August (somewhere I can
hear Mike Laidlaw and teh Dev team having heart attacks thinking of
launching in a month).

The February date is a promise of
something cool, but not necessarily the launch of DA2. You'll just have
to wait and see what we come up with.

Lets be perfectly fair that was an obivous screwup, even if a demo had been released today.

I am so psyched.

It obviously worked for a crapload of other people.  They are definitely "psyched".   Whether it was their intent or not this definitely had people talking about DA2.

it was said that it would be something exciting for dragon age fans. or something like that

Plus a newsletter saying a demo was comming and hours of speculation. A simple no from Bioware would have been nice. I don't know, this just seems like a really ****ty way to treat potential customers.

Not only something so trivial, but something that BioWare had nothing to do with! The newsletters came from EA.

But they could have said somthing about it. So EA sends a Newsletter saying that a Demo is out now and Bioware say nothing about it at all.
When Micro$oft gave an early releasedate for HALO 3, Bungie was quick to tell the fans that the date was not right because they did not whant to dissapoint the fans.
But EA releaser info about a Demo and about something big happening 1 Feb 2011 and Bioware say nothing? Exept hinting that they have some tricks planed for that date.

I have 25+ days to wait for an item that is the biggest purchase for a game that I have ever made. Am I excited about this game...you tell me.

While I agree that people are overreacting, I think that an apology would be appropriate.  Bioware hinted that something big was going to happen today more than once.  And in the end, they just announced old news.  So yeah, I think that there was enough of a genuine letdown to merit an apology for that.

But then, I'm an apologetic person.

An apology? For what? Earlier, when there was speculation from the banners, I could understand an “oops, our bad! Banners were a mistake.” But to come out and make an official apology? Jeez, it isn’t like they sold inside secrets.

Between the countdown timer and the "epic community event" which ended up being the bazaar and their "major annoucement" at the VGA's which was just a confirmation to what we already knew, why would anyone talk BioWare's word that they have "something big" coming?

I don't give a **** about the demo. I'm mad that this announcement was a freaking Facebook game that everyone knew about. Damn, I would have been satisfied if there was just another dev diary.

One could assume that, but like all assumptions it would simply be your own invention.

So what else is one supposed to think? That beta for an already announced facebook game is going to continue? Is that worth hinting at a year in advance? Bioware should have taken that into consideration.

When you make a card teasing something a year in advance, it's made with the fact that people are going to expect something significant in mind. Fans know this and thus get excited.

They got the hype rolling for nothing.

Come on, it could have happened: something big was promised and what was released is anything but big in my opinion.

Do you expect to get an in game item for sucking up?

They promoted the speculation of a trivial detail and instead of going into a converation over how we were upset, they've been acting elitest and have called us all melodramatic whiners.

They can feel the heat of my rage until the cows come home.
