I don't know, this just seems like a really ****ty way to treat potential customers.

I agree, it is AWEFUL!  Way to go EAware!  They definitely need to apologize to us.  My purchase was riding on the fact that 2/01/2011 was going to be a epic day of epicosity.

This^
After all this disappointment I think I would be content with a new trailer at least.
Or some god damn spell, and talent info!

Posting on these forums here is like jumping with a pogo stick in a minefield for the devs. No matter what they say...it will bite them in the ass later.

People who claim to feel "betrayed' or "lied to" need to get off of their high horse and stop believing that they have some sort of divine right to a demo or something from BioWare. They told us that there would be an announcement today, and there was. The employees of BioWare said absolutely NOTHING about a demo, yet you all convinced yourselves that you were getting one and now you feel like you deserve one for no other reason. BioWare owes us nothing. They did not lie to us. They did not betray us in any form of the word. They delivered on exactly what they promised us, no more and no less. To all of those of you who think what you got wasn't good enough, deal with it you ingrates.

Agreed. This is getting ridiculous.

But how glorious will that last jump be, flying high in the air before crashing back to earth! Posted Image

Most of the current rage is not about the demo but the lack of the awesome stuff that was supposed to happen today.

Nothing was promised, so you cannot say that anything was supposed to happen.

The way the devs were acting probably made people think there was going to be awesome stuff happening today. We're all just hungry for more DA2 info.

I don't understand the concept of the demo if you are releasing it the same day. The point your riding on is this: "If you are unsure if you want to buy the game then you can play the demo and decide. In reality we know that our fans will buy any game we put out because they are anxious". This is an ignorant philosophy and alienates a large amount of the audience that would still like to experience the changes and possibly take a step back if they think that it has gone too far.

Many people were discouraged with ME2's changes, don't try to play the same ball game here when your fans are extremely loyal already.

have called us all melodramatic whiners.

I know, right? Where ever did they get that idea? These forums are a perfect model of calm rational thinking adults. I personally feel insulted by the lack of something happening today. This will go down as one of my most disappointing moments with Bio...errr, I'm sorry, EAware.

^This. Granted I'm not raging over it, but still. There is a distinctive lack of awesomeness in announcing something that people have been playing for over a week. This one ranks right up there with the Bioware Bizarre and the "holiday season" that RtO came out. ^_^

When you make a card teasing something a year in advance, it's made with the fact that people are going to expect something significant in mind. Otherwise your fans will only be disapoointed.

We had every reason to expect something more. And we have every right to be disappointed.

No more ridiculous than anything else on the forums.

Honestly you folks going around telling everyone to shut up are just as obnoxious as the ones acting like they're owed a demo. <_<

Haha, I really like this! Seriously Bioware, could we just get an explanation, please? I don't want you to explain if/when a demo is coming, I just want to know wtf those banners were about.

My questions:
1) Why were those "Demo Out Now!" banners released? Was it a simple misunderstanding between Bioware and EA?
2) Why were those banners so quietly edited fifteen hours later? Again, was it to correct a simple misunderstanding? Why no announcement when this happened?
3)Why was everyone "in the know" so quiet about those mysterious banners? Why couldn't fans get an explanation? Was it because the Devs honestly didn't know what was going on? Or if it's something super-secret, could you at least say, "We can't discuss that right now?"
4) What exactly happened?

This, this, this! A million times this!
Everything would be all fine and dandy if they could just answer this

I agree. Why would anyone want this to stop? Some pretty funny stuff is coming out of all this.
