Oh I get it, but it still relied on a number of speculative assumptions. I wasn't dismissing people's frustration with my post, but trying to say that logic, and people talking about how logically they shouldn't have expected what they did literally aren't going to be welcome in this thread.

Whether or not I agree with Maria is a different story. I do. I didn't expect a demo, but I definitely hoped for one.

That's okay. I'll go back to assuming Cassandra is a love interest because no one has explicitly said she's not.

Conveniently forgetting something in your post? Like, I don't know, maybe the real reason why people were expecting a demo? It's pretty easy to make ignorant comparisons when you leave out important details.

The BDF didn't get their deployment orders.

I didn't expect a demo, but like a lot of others, I really really hoped hehe. The thing I am troubled by is that they still haven't explained the whole Demo Out Now thing in the newsletters. They may have, but I have yet to see it. I am a little dissapointed with the lack of "surprises" today, but hey, the games out in a month. I would have liked to play the game though, a demo would have been awesome!

See, I didn't need a demo to make me happy. I would have settled for anything. New trailer, new character reveal, clip of Lady Hawke's voice. I am not difficult to please.



However, when BioWare mark the date on the flyer they gave us months ago by doing nothing other than revealing the upgrade of a FaceBook game from one stage of beta to another, I feel I have the right to be a tad cranky. I realise they probably had plans for this day when the originally made the flyer that later fell through, but they could have given us something today, instead of hinting that we'd get a 'surprise' and then giving us nothing at all. Which is a surprise, but not the good kind.

All i want is some new info. Ive been contemplating buying the game or not but we have what one video that shows about 30 seconds of dialogue? Im still on the fence, i want it but it just seems so changed from DA:O.

For me, it's not about the demo, it's not about the banners; it's about the fact that we were TOLD (both through the flyer and by the devs on the forum) that we would be getting something big and awesome today. And that this expectation got even more blown out of proportion when the 'demo' rumor started, and the devs - by virtue of not quashing it like normal - fed this rumor.



And then they let us down. I'm sorry, but it's true. By allowing the hype to build like this and then merely announcing a beta for an already-hyped game that many of us have no interest in, THEY LET US DOWN. And will not ACKNOWLEDGE that they let us down.



I don't want a demo. I don't even want a full apology at this point. All I want is for a Bioware rep to say "whoops."



Now, that's it. I'm going to do my best to stay away from here.

I'm a ridiculous fanboy who may very well be purchasing Dead Space 2 just to get dlc armor for DA2... but even I will admit that including an ad with a specific date and then not having something planned for that date is a bit unprofessional. If just because it's a massive waste of money. [shrug]

There would have been massive complaints with any announcement. This is just another day on the forums, albeit with a little more drama.

Was the announcement severely underwhelming? Yes..yes it was. Am I disappointed? Definitely. I honestly think that they did mean for SOMETHING (be it demo, game, announcement of characters whatever...) big to happen but crap came up, things didn't pan out. It was the handling of it that has me and I think the majority of people pissed. they should have squashed the rumors when it started instead they used the forums as cheap entertainment. Ya it sucks but it's nothing to go into a tantrum about...not gonna cancel my pre-order, still going to play my games. They got their jollies...drank our tears...ate our souls...whichever is your preferred expression, now it's time to move on and just learn from this to not expect anything until it is physically in our hands,

Exactly this. I don't want an appology or anything like that  (I personally don't agree that they "let us down") but any sort of comment, explanation, handwave, collective shrug, statement, etc. would be infinitely better than the silence we've received for the past two days.

We're all extremely confused, Devs. Can't you give us any bit of information at all? What the heck happened two days ago?
