I will never understand the "cake is a lie" meme. Was it started by someone who started Portal but never finished it or something?  The cake was not a lie, Chell just left before she got a chance to eat it.

It comes from the game itself. In certain sections, you can make your way into grubby little 'hideways' behind scenes, that some unknown person had obviously hidden themselves in to try and escape the tests. There's scrawling and graffiti on the wall.

You'll notice that as you progress through the chambers, the promise of cake ('and brief counselling, heh) is often given to you as a reward for completing the tests. However, in the behind scenes 'hideaways', the unknown person has often scrawled

THE CAKE IS A LIE
THE CAKE IS A LIE
THE CAKE IS A LIE

on the walls.

As it turns out, instead of being given cake, the end of the test is set up to bake YOU instead, in an incinerator.

So... there you have it

Edit: Also, it's a strange, quirky phrase. And the internets love them some quirky phrases. Mmm mm.

Well I interpret that as a few things instore for the month of February, February has 28 days.

Also as for the flier, I looked at several different threads and the general opinion was that it was the DA2 release date and many thrads as the months go by talk about the release date being moved, it happens.

I'm just not one to go on a tirade because of some hype. 

Bioware has made some great games and have made a lot of great content, however people seem to enjoy throwing them to the wolves any chance they see fit over the most trivial things (Yes I see this as trivial)

Also before you jump on me about lack of information being available.  I like it that way, I don't want game companies releasing info dumps non stop which could potentially spoil the game.

We are getting in the home stretch, info will come.

and honestly if you don't like how things are going wether if it was intentional, accidental, or forced upon by a 3rd party. Just go up to your browser window punch in some other website and leave.

Well, there were discussing Feb 1.  So, yea, the 28 days thing doesn't seem to fit.

That is the general concensus about why the flyer was in the Awakening box.  And yet Bioware has never said that.  Why?  (that's rhetorical, I know you don't know).

Sure, they made good games - but that was yesterday.  We're talking about what they're making and doing now.  History only gets you so much, IMO.

I respect you don't want info, which may spoil the game for you.  Me, I'd like more info about the game.  Opinions differ.

I could go to another website.  I'd rather let the people at Bioware know that what they did is pretty much crap.  So they don't do it again.

And before anyone thinks I'm attacking you, I'm not.  Simply responding to your opinions.  I took nothing you said prsonally, and hop you feel the same.

I am honestly surprised that pretty much nothing came out of this whole 2.1.11 thing. I do hope the folks that like Facebook games enjoy Dragon Age Legends, but in my opinion, I think more was planned but like they say, plans change.

This wouldn't have exploded into what it has if that EA newsletter hadn't come out with wrong info that put the idea of a demo in everyone's heads.

Sooo retailers get to play a demo? That seems odd.
