I think Bioware just did the biggest facepalm ever. Two days of hype buildup to a demo, an explosion of angry people when it didn't happen and just when it started to die down . . . demo announcement.

You know what would be mega rage face?

If to get the demo on the 23rd you had to buy the game or pre-order it and they give you a code slip at Gamestop.

Maybe that's why they got so many codes at Gamestops.

I view the 2-1-11 card and the leaked image promoting a demo as separate and distinct pieces of evidence.  One indicated something would happen on 2-1-11, the other indicated the possibility of a demo.  The only thing linking the two is speculation and hope.  Which amounts to nothing conclusive.

So today I saw a 2-1-11 announcement that I thought was lame, and I was thoroughly disappointed. 

I also saw confirmation that a demo exists, something I wouldn't have thought or expected before the leaked promotional image from a retailer.

I have been provided no evidence that these events are directly related.

The steps from A to B to C to D are there, and seem pretty obvious, given the number of people who get it.

We were led to believe there was a big deal coming on 2/1,  The only thing that occurred was the DA:L still in beta announcement.   There was never denial of the 2/1 demo leak, although that was later refuted.

All this needed was a statement that 2/1 was the original DA2 release date and it was pushed back, or a statement that no demo would be released on 2/1, or some other simple comment.  They gave none.

You see no big deal, that's fine.  I'll go join the several dozen others who also feel jerked around.

Well you see that's just it. EA/Bioware have just been sitting back letting this thing spin out of control. Bioware had no role in any demo confirmation...it was a Gamestop employee posting on this thread that broke the news.

There was somebody on another forum yesterday claiming that there was a demo for gamespot employees.  It's linked somewhere either in this mess of a thread or the one that preceeded it.

I agree that the marketing has sucked from Day One. But I'm also pointing out that, regardless of context, people are complaining when the thing they want to happen... happened.

I will gaze upon the 2/1/11 flyer in Awakening now and remember it as a very dark day...Well, I guess they were right when they said they have "a few suprises" for that day lol A few suprises for us indeed.
