Yeah, I was at one of the two local Gamestop's for my b-day recently (a friend got me a gift card there else I would NOT have gone) and I had to ask where the PC games were after looking for a few minutes...
the guy asked the other guy working and then directed me to a stand, in the back, where 3/4's of the stand were empty boxes advertising Homefront or some such, and 2 of the 3 remaining shelves were all Blizzard products...

hence why I had overlooked the shelves, as I thought it was the Apple section. *drumroll*

Is "trick" a code for "demo?"  If it is, I'll concede your point.  But I think it could mean anything, including Dragon Age: Legends.

I'm happy that there is a demo and we can look forward to the 23rd for something to sate us a bit before the game is actually released.



But I am utterly baffled by the decision to provide early access to Gamestop employees. I'm not a marketing expert, but isn't the point of a demo to give people a sample of the game? Why would you only provide the demo two weeks from release? And what do the Gamestop employees care? A good sized chunk of them probably don't care about Dragon Age at all, although I suppose they might hype the game up to customers and get people to pre-order.



It just seems like somebody (maybe in marketing, which has been strange for this game) dropped the ball somewhere along the line.



But, Yay! We get a demo on the 23rd!

What does it mean by "all consumers". Will the demo be available to all by February 23? Or only to those who preordered at Gamestop?

We don't know. It probably means all customers.

It most likely meant both, since he said trick in plural.

Which I find a bit odd. How many people care for a closed beta or a closed demo handout?

What's to explain? BioWare was nice enough to provide a demo for select companies as a source of information before the public and this is how they are thanked for it?  How many times have you gone to a Gamestop only to find out they know nothing or next to about a game that's coming out soon? Me? Often enough, this was a nice gesture meant to help everyone.

Well I am in the UK so I think our gamestop is game (which is the biggest chain games retailer in UK) and honestly most of the time I go in there to look for a game or infor on one - I know more than they do! Most employees seem not to care and as I believe was said by someone else are basically just casheers!

I resent that remark . It reeally depends on where you shop and more importantly who is doing the hiring for said stores. I worked for Gamestop for 7 years and consider myself very knowledgeable on all gaming platforms.

Oh...ummmm....I was saying I was confused about all of this.  I am not mad about today, just disappointed because I hyped myself up and stayed up late last night and it was for naught.  I don't want my comment to cause anger or grief.  I have nothing against Gamestop and nothing against people who don't like Gamestop and nothing against people who have nothing against said people. 

So, not mad, just disappointed and confused.  I would like an explaination, but I am not demanding one.

BIOWARE are not your benevolent diety stop pretending like they are. They're a for profit business that f*cked up their marketing. They spit on their loyal customers and those customers are now dissatisfied.
