All this whiplash seems to have broken my ability to feel feelings. I'm still utterly baffled by everything that's been going on. I think this new demo news is...good? Maybe?

Mike Laidlaw commenting that they had "tricks" planned for 2/1 is an irrelevancy I can't prove?
Okay - this is OT. Whatever.

I have a question! A legitimate one! This early demo access is being granted to Gamestop employees only. Any
form of distribution, recording, posting of any elements of the Dragon
Age 2 demo and any of its files is strictly prohibited until February
23, 2011 when the demo is made available to all consumers.
Download Instructions: Please enter download code and click the download
button to start your download.
What does it mean by "all consumers". Will the demo be available to all by February 23? Or only to those who preordered at Gamestop?
We don't know. It probably means all customers.

Is "trick" a code for "demo?" If it is, I'll concede your point. But I think it could mean anything, including Dragon Age: Legends.

This is all very confusing....
I hope that sometime before DA2's release date, this whole thing will be explained.
What's to explain? BioWare was nice enough to provide a demo for select companies as a source of information before the public and this is how they are thanked for it?How many times have you gone to a Gamestop only to find out they know nothing or next to about a game that's coming out soon? Me? Often enough, this was a nice gesture meant to help everyone.
I'm going to slay darkspawn.
Well I am in the UK so I think our gamestop is game (which is the biggest chain games retailer in UK) and honestly most of the time I go in there to look for a game or infor on one - I know more than they do! Most employees seem not to care and as I believe was said by someone else are basically just casheers!
I resent that remark. It reeally depends on where you shop and more importantly who is doing the hiring for said stores. I worked for Gamestop for 7 years and consider myself very knowledgeable on all gaming platforms.

The first of the Bioware Forum Users watched across the Internets
And grew jealous of the Gamestop employees
They could not get codes, could not play the demo.
In blackest envy were the demons born.

How many people care for a closed beta or a closed demo handout?

At koshie's word, the sky
Grew black with rage.
At Our Lady’s, ten thousand posts
Rang from their keyboards,
A great hymn rose over Bioware Boards gladly proclaiming:
Those who had been waiting want that gd mother****ing demo right now!!!
