They're trusting GameStop employees of all people? GameStop is a hive of scum and villainy. I'm sure everyone can guess what will happen.

Well... Think of it this way.. Employees are pretty much programed to spew nothing but good things about a product. By just giving it to Gamestop employees they can control the flow of information, and keep the negative feedback to a minimum. I'd probably do the same thing if I ran a game company.

Also, they give it to Gamestop employees early so that Gamestop can sell more games by touting their "And if you pre-order DA2 through Gamestop, you can have all these fancy DLC items, PLUS this spectacular belt, exclusive to Gamestop customers! But you have to order it now, because it won't be available after the 8th."
See how I did that?

Its like they are purposely keeping gameplay and demos away from us because we will hate it..
Like with pre-order bonuses and lack of marketing. They just want us to buy this game on faith.

not really... if people had thier own demos to play they would get hooked on thier own and flood gamespot for pre-orders on thier own, without cheezy lines from pimple-faced counter jockeys
I know what marketing is. I also know bad marketing.
DA2 = horrible marketing.

Well.. You have a point there. But from what I've seen(which is admittedly not much) I think I'll like the gameplay.
So yeah in a way I guess I am buying(or should I say bought), this game on faith. But you know? I think Biowares not going to let me down on this..
How much did they market Origins, and Mass Effect 2?(This is an actual question).

this marketing could be in a splash screen before and after the demo.. same thing.. much bigger audience, much more effective

I'm sure all the reasons you listed are correct. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the Mass Effect 2 debacle of last year.

1. Minor gameplay adjustments
2. Small graphical tweaks
3. NEW ROSTER, LOL!!

X. Preorders EVERYWHERE, PROFIT, etc.
It's a proven system guys, the Madden folks do this every year, Bioware's learning from the MASTERS.

Seriously. We're getting the demo. Just be happy with that. I seriously don't know why you're still complaining about it. No matter how pissed you are, no matter how much you complain, the decision still exists, and the game is still going to be incredible.
Move on already. (By the way, this was only directed to the few who are still complaining.)
Also, since there are only a few complaining people left, I feel the urge to say; I TOTALLY CALLED IT! I said this would be blown over by the morning, and what do you know? It's 4:08 AM here, and it's almost blown over.
