Oh wow, I am actually amazed a 1 day thread got 150 pages already. Nice. Sooo Is the demo confirmed or what? Those gamespot thingies don't prove much tbh bioware can change that anytime

More than likely, but who knows. I'm guessing once you enter a valid code you get an installer file with data, so if someone uploads that, then yes. But regardless, waiting a week and a bit extra for the regular release isn't that big of a deal......who am I kidding, yes it is

Probably on the 11th or afterwords. Since people who have codes put them in and they get nothing, and apparently the download won't become available until then.

The Gamestop exclusive is.  We do not know if the version available to "all consumers" on Feb 23 will be.

Might be. It's a lot easier to release a demo on PC than on consoles (a lot less red tape to go through for the devs).

I have to agree (even though I'm a PC gamer) that it is rather unfair that the demo is only coming out for PC. Do they assume everyone has PCs capable of running the game. Well, you know what they say about assumptions...
The whole demo thing has left a sour taste in my mouth so I probably won't even bother with it.

Of course it does, we don't have access to their reasoning or thought process, so evaluating it would be unfair because we're simply left to assume what it is.  Which inherently makes 'I don't like this, Bioware' a more valid complaint than 'This is stupid business.'  In any case I doubt it went down like this:

INT. BIOWARE EDMONTON BREAK ROOM

TIM, a MARKETING PRODUCER walks in to the break room with his COFFEE and has an impromptu business discussion with HORTON, one of the PROJECT DIRECTORS - who is eating a SANDWICH.

Tim: "So hey, um, what's our plan with this demo?" *sips coffee*
Horton:  *chews emphatically for a moment, then talks loudly out of the side of his mouth*  "Well I was thinking about giving Gamestop and perhaps other retailers access to the demo for an exclusive window."
Tim:  *makes disappointed face, stirs more cream into coffee* "Why?"
Horton:  "I dunno.  The lulz I guess.  It was just an idea I had in the shower this morning." 
Tim:  "I do some of my best thinking in the shower."
Horton:  *spies Tim's coffee, decides he wants some and moves over to the machine* "Also you should get your department to ensure sure we leak hints that this demo the general public can't play exists right around the 2.1.11 Legends announcement."
Tim:  "Sounds like a plan to me."

Did Bioware CONFIRM this themselves? I see no point on not confirming if gamestop will REALLY release a demo. At least they could freaking shed some light here, instead they leave us in the darkness of speculation and all.

What's to confirm? The link goes to a page that is hosted on the official Dragon Age 2 website.

When does my story say it's morning?  He thought up the idea in the morning, and game developers drink coffee all the time.

I imagined it was lunch;  and Horton there eats sandwiches whenever he wants anyway.  It's like a superpower.
